I have an opportunity to buy a 1994 SHO. under 100,000 miles, the inside and out are in excellent condition but the car wont get out of first gear. Do you think it is worth buying? I dont know how much it would cost to fix the transmission or even whats wrong with it.

Plan on 3 grand for a properly remanufactured and installed transmission. Minimum 2 grand for one to just get by.

Perhaps a few hundred for a used/junkyard tranny plus labor.

Back in Michigan ... again.
$3000 for an FPS tranny, but any reputable tranny shop should be able to do a rebuild for around $2000 all total, and that transmission will be just fine unless you plan to drive the car like you stole it 24/7.

$1000 for a SHO with a bad trans is too high. Site the cost of a tranny rebuild and hit him at $500, then accept a $700 offer. I recently paid $1750 for a 93 ATX with in very good condition with just a click over 100,000 miles AND a fresh transmission rebuild. There are enough ATX SHO's around as to find a better deal if you're looking for a fixer upper.
