wipers overshoot winsheild

When turned on and at exactly 85mph and higher my wipers fly up and get stuck at the edge of the windshield until I drop the speed below 80mph and has done this for the 2 yrs that I've had the car. I know some may ask why I'm going over 85 in conditions where I need to use my wipers, all I can say is that it happens. Anyways it does get a little hairy at 85 and the wipers get stuck. Any ideas, I ran a search and all I found was people who had this happen randomly and that it was the motor,but mine only does it at hi speeds and is fine once I slow down which I guess is ok but it would be nice to fix the problem and not worry about it.

I figure stronger springs would help to hold the wiper on the glass shrug

But yes, slow down and the problem wil go away

if you need your wipers you shouldn't be going that fast

The wiper arm can be removed from the stub (pull clip away from stub and lift) and reinstalled a few teeth on the knurled stub in the CCW direction to alter the upward travel extreme of the wipers. Select a mounting position that allows the wipers to properly "park" on the ramps to unload the spring pressure from the blade when off, but also sweep the entire surface of the windshield when in use.

Thanks SDPATT that's what I was looking for, they were positioned past the apex causing the wind to catch them, simple fix,thanks again hail
