Never really posted much before (except when I first got my 95 SHO and needed assistance with some troubleshooting). Alas, she has sat covered in the garage for some time now; runs but too many smaller problems to fix. But I don't want to junk her. She's still a beauty except for well worn front seats (back seat is pristine) plus some "peeling" issue with the console (oh, and a minor piece of bumper missing thanks to my husband). I'd rather give it to someone who would put the time an effort into restoring but haven't had any luck with that and I know that if I "donate" it, it would end up in a junk yard. :mecry: Any other suggestions out there?

That's really sad. I just got my 95 sho a month ago And couldn't imagine not having it now. What's wrong with her?

Dang, I'd take it, but last thing I need is another project. Have 5 already. Is it 3.0? 3.2? I actually really need a spare sho for parts to keep my showagon alive

What are the "too many smaller problems to fix". Very often, to fix one problem, you have to handle / expose / disassemble other parts in the vicinity, and one repair looks after 2 or 3 issues (with a minimum of effort on the 2nd and 3rd).
There are lots of members in Florida who know your SHO, and can fix it.
Take the 2 front seats out, have them recovered, fix the other stuff, and use it daily. Once fixed, they are really reliable.
They are tons of fun, cheap to insure, and are still a great source of pride. Most parts are cheap, and still plentiful, but finding a good repair guy (on this forum) is the key.

Not really sure (she's a 3.2). She was leaking red fluid but it wasn't transmission because fluid levels are still high (as well as oil). So I'm thinking it has something to do with the A/C because it started malfunctioning just before I noticed the fluid dripping on the garage floor. I think the compressor could be the problem because there also seems to be something with the belt that causes the car to "lurch" so maybe the compressor is stuck in the engaged position? The other "small" issue was that we had what seemed to be an oil drip onto the manifold that would smoke (people would think she was on fire but it was just smoke). Even a Ford dealer couldn't figure it out but other than the slight amount of smoke, it didn't seem to cause a problem. I'd like to hold onto her with the expectation that I can find a good repair guy but not sure if that will be feasible. Thanks for the info sperold!

The red fluid is probably the power steering return line leaking (the rubber hose part).
Might also be the transmission cooler line (to the radiator) leaking.
The oil smoke is probably the cam sensor leaking or a valve cover gasket that has curled over when installed (on the rear head).
It could also be the power steering fluid leak / transmission lines mentioned above.
Where the oil drips on the floor is often not where the leak starts. You have to wipe down the area of the leak, then get out the compact mirror and see where a new trail of oil originates, after it has run for awhile.

It seemed like alot of fluid and figured that because all the fluid levels are high, it wouldn't have been any of the fluids that can be readily checked. Guess I'll check the lines. Thanks for the info; it gives me something to work on.

It's an ATX (automatic)? Any more details on the car such as mileage and pictures?
Yes, it's an automatic. Mileage is almost 140,000 (had 26,000 when we bought it used in ~98) . I tried attaching pics (it's a dark green w/tan interior) but apparently they were too big so I'll have to try again.

I've been looking at the Blue Devil sealer, but have heard warnings against using any oil additives in the past. If I can put off having to take the car to Atlanta for another year or two, I'll do it, I just don't want to compromise the motor's longevity. ****, by the time I take the car to Doug, he probably won't even be messing with the Gen3's anymore, and if he is, it'll likely cost a fortune. Ecoboosts will be giving him enough work for sure, especially manually cleaning intake deposits.

Just bought a 93 3.2 two tone silver on red. Needs minor mostly cosmetic repair. I'm in Ft Myers. The cam sensor, crank sensor, timing belt and cover were just replaced. It has 140k on it. I haven't even had a chance to drive it yet besides to move it into my driveway. I did notice the stereo doesn't get very loud and the sub doesn't work. Any advice on the stereo and other maintenance would be appreciated.

Sho off I saw that one for sale two weeks ago and thought about running down there to take a look at it. Glad to see somebody snatched it up. I went ahead and bought my wife a 2014 SHO and I have to say I am impressed. By far the quickest, most comfortable, and stable car I have driven.

Stang it's a decent car and the price wasn't bad either for the condition it's in. It has a few little imperfections but for its age who can complain. I was suprized actually how quick it is being that it's a taurus, well atleast the body.

Bump!

Brian, you back in FL yet? I would hate to think that there won't be anymore east FL SHO gatherings, and that I never got to meet you guys, but it's looking that way. I'd probably be the only Gen3 SHO there anyway.
Are we still gathering current FL member info? not sure if this is an old thread or not, Fort Myers, Bonita area 2 currently, 94 atx and building a 89 mtx. always looking for something for them lol! past, too many rides to list bust had a brand new 91 MTX and then a new 94 atx back in the day!

Always good to add more people. I'm on the east coast, but I don't know of anyone else that's responded to this thread in my area that has a Gen 3. Looks like you and ShoOff93 are in the same vicinity.
