They will just add a /5th to the 4th, and lump it into the same section just like the 1st and 2nd Gen. Most 4/5 Gen owner on here know the difference, just like the 1st and 2nd gen owners do.

Yea there is enough difference from 12-13 that people need to know as they are getting cheaper and worn out that people may find a 2012 part for cheap for their 2013 and need to know it may not work. I agree there. There is more differences that I originally said. I was just being funny. I just pointed out the big ones to me

Taurus. Im talking "sho"
Now this is correct ^^^^^

There is a differentiation between the amount of GEN's for the "regular" Taurus trim levels.

The SHO's however, there are only 5 generations currently.

Even the current SCOA President will attest to this himself.

There are 7 Generations of Taurus. Howevever there are 5 Generations of the SHO within those Generations. There were no SHO produced within the 4th and 5th Gen of the Taurus run.

I agree. For others sake, they should have a gen 5 difference on this forum as 3 of the 9 years of "gen4" on this forum have alot of differences. Even in tuning and aftermarket.
Probably won't ever be a "gen5" to me but others need to know the difference since 10-12 models are real cheap now.

Update the forum section please.

It is like that with almost any car, with any marker, over every manufacturer.

90-97 miata is one gen but almost every part under the car including the engine is different from my 90 to a 94-97. They just name them na6 and na8 but still under the gen 1 umbrella. I figured thats what they would have claimed gen 4 sho as, mid cycle refresh with different codenames.

There has been proven instances where police interceptors are titled as Taurus SHO. Just a tid bit of info there. So police interceptors can indeed be Taurus SHO

You already have a 5th gen my friend.
You started a war with this comment but yeah I always thought the 2010-12 SHOs looked extremely different inside and out compared to the later models and was surprised to see they were grouped together when I came to the forum

When they start calling a 69 camaro a GEN 2 or the C8 'vette gets renamed to like C15, I'll call my SHO a GEN 5.

Until then, it's a GEN 4 here just for simplicity. But really it's a GEN 6 Taurus and that's it. Do guys with the latest Z06's call their cars C4's, or C7's?

Im a little late to the party here, but back on track.

I'm tuned by gearhead, and haven't had any revisions since the initial tune. All I really have for mods so far is catless PPE downpipes, and msd coils. I've been on the list for a gearhead intercooler since February, but that'll definitely be next.

Gearhead has been great for the little interaction I have had so far. I had an issue with knock at first, but adding e85 to my gas has solved that. I personally think my ao tune is setup for slightly higher than 93, since even with 93 around me I still get too much knock without adding about 2 gallons of e85. The shifting though is amazing and the consistent power is great.

I'd say my only con is that they leaned pretty heavy on the bad gas thing for the knock issue. I feel like something else is afoot if no matter what I have to add e85 everytime.

I am super interested in how xsport is going to do a full e85 setup. I don't even want it for pushing max power out of it so much as I want the convenience of filling up with one pump. On that note I had started looking at making a walbro pump work that could flow enough for e85, but that is very cursory research so far.

Well food for thought: when I first started tuning i used ExxonMobil gas because I could get it for free....my car had knock issues on unleashed. So I added torco and it helped. Then I tried bfs and I didn't think gas could be the problem because both places gave me issues. Well finally I switched to sheetz gas and unleashed thought I was still using torco lol

Point being gas varies a lot. I never tested my e-content, but id say its probably 81-85 because ive never had any spark pulled since switching to full e85.

TL;DR SHEETZ GAS RIPS!!!!!

My trip to Boston yesterday I filled up with Rutters. Since they are top tier gas now. All highway in cruise control in 6th whole time fuel economy gauge said 34.2mpg. Ajp tune if that matters.

Yea it was like 2 different worlds going across the state. Im directly middle on the maryland boarder, there are wawas in alot of my travel areas in Maryland. MD has alot more 7/11s also and BP gas. We have a wide range of gas and food stores within the area, which is fine I like to mix it up
