So what is the best performance tire for a stock slicer or 3 wheel?
For summer performance, I would say the three that Sam and I mentioned:
Falken Azenis 615
Hankook RS2
Dunlop Star Spec Z1

+1
And i would add the RS2 to that list. My last set were RS2s, I have 615s now. Both are great, and about as close you can get to street-legal track tires.
I have run both falcon azeni 615 and RS2's and the 615 provides a noticeably more traction and I prefer then feel of them before they let go compared to the RS2's. I want to say the RS2's have a longer tread life because that is what a read but they did not last as long as my azenis which saw several autoX 2 road course and about half their life was on my turbo SHO. My RS2's life was 1 track day and duty on my N/A SHO and they were toast really quick. I attribute their quick wear to the fact I never adjusted my driving style when I changed from the stickier 615. That caused me to slide around a lot on the RS2's making their life short.
-Extremely aggressive driving + track time + autoX
it is really hard to argue with the azeni especially for the money.
Keep in mind this is my size and it the reason it is so expensive. 245-45-17 which is a **** of a lot of tire. To be fair a 215 is more fun on the street because the limits are so high on this tire. excellent for autoX or some extreme back roads driving but a 215 would be a lot cheaper and you will still have a blast. and for that price you will not feel bad doing your best to destroy them quickly.
