What is this, I hear people cleaning it, and what not, but what is it, and where is it located? inner air cleaner?

Matt -
IAC; Idle Air Control (aka IAB; Intake Air Bypass). The early designs were sealed 1-piece units that are non-cleanable; the later years & replacement units are 2-piece & are cleanable once you separate the halves.

Looking down at the top of the intake manifold, the IAC is the cylinder-looking piece that sits on the "inside" of the wrap-around plenum / crossover framework of the intake manifold, right near the throttle body. There is a black electrical connector on the back / firewall side of the IAC.

On the SHOForum pic of the intake, it's on the left side, between the plenum & the first runner. The one shown in the pic is a 2-piece - see the 2 distinct cylinders connected together?
