What about Gen 1

How come everytime something comes up about a new bunper or hood, it's always for a Gen2. What about the poor gen1? I love my gen2, but I like the gen1's better. Am I choosing the wrong car for a project car?

I have actually seen people modify body kits from Stillen and make them look real good on the SHO. But I have to agree the gen I's by far look the best,this is just my opinion. So please don't flame me.

More aesthetics mods are for the Gen 2 simply because there were more of them built and hence a larger potential market - mostly since they were offered in an ATX.

Not to mention that there is the plus style hood and the fiberglass cowl hood already available for some time now. The police grill was only on the GenI's too. So there were a few appearance items already in place early.

Im soon to be gettin a 91 + white, and yeah indeed... they dont have clear corners, fish tanks, anything like that.

I had two GenII's but settled on my 89 because IMO the GenI's are much more attractive. Lighter too.

I love the Gen 1 stock better than any modded out Gen 2. Gen 1 is just the cleanest, meanest, lightest SHO out there....the factory body kit really sets the whole thing off, looks stock...but not...but it is....

Why does everyone keep saying the Gen 1 is the lightest? Its been shown that all the MTX cars weigh within a few lbs, no matter what the year. A completely optionless 89 would be the lightest, but only by 100lbs, if that. You could get a stripped 92 that would be just like the 89 except for 1 airbag and ABS. Not gonna make a lot of difference.

Besides everyone knows that 92s were the fastest year.

I've had my '91 Black on Black MTX since Christmas 2004. I love it! The exterior is cool as is, but I would eventually love a police grill, new wheels and tires (17? 18?) and an "oil slick black" paint job. Just dreamin' 4 now! If I could figure out how to link up a picture to show you, I would.
