Water temp sending unit location

I have done several searches and cannot find a pic of the location for the water temp sending unit location. If anyone has a pic could you post it please? Also am I correct to "***-U-ME" that I can use the stock sender for an aftermarket (Autometer) water temp gauge. I was planing on simply disconecting the factory connection to the dash (at the sender), thus simply disabling the "normal" gauge and run a new wire from the sender for the new gauge.

All this sound o.k. to you guys?

It's right around the thermostat. As for the sender, just get a tee so both of your gauges will still work.

The sensor to the left of the T-stat is the one your looking for. I stuck my AutoMeter sending unit there and moved the stock gauge to the upper radiator hose.

If you want a pic, let me know... I'll go out to the garage and take one.

pic would be great. You used the Autometer sender? did you just unthread (remove) the stock sender and put the new one in its spot. Also where did you put the factory sender?
