Anybody know what this part is called? Some sort of vacuum line check valve. Seems as if I have a vacuum leak but no leak has been found, I think I have dialed it down to this piece, it is whistling quite loudly as if the check valve is stuck, sprayed a little Wd40 inside with no luck.

Does that connect to the power brake booster? If so, your booster is probably leaking, not the check valve.

Depends on the leak - if the engine can still provide enough vacuum to keep the brake booster happy, you might not notice it right away. But again, if that one-way valve or whatever it is is inline with the brake booster, and it's whistling, I'd figure the brake booster to be the issue.

It is connected to the main cylinder up a ways after the break booster check valve. But I have no problem with the breaks. It simply won't build up boost, after 2nd gear it will just blow off rapidly and repetitively when trying to build boost.
When assessing I noted a lot of hissing coming from the check valve picture above. I don't think the hissing is normal. Does yours have an obvious hissing noise when idling?

If it helps, a month ago I had these same symptoms, and when I opened the hood I found a hose had come loose from is fitting, popped it back on and clamped it down and problem was solved, until a couple days ago back with the same symptoms and now this hissing noise.

I just put mine back to stock and kept the BOV tubes off, still with the same symptoms. Just blows of boost and not making very much power. I can see how though with the BOV tubes on all you would notice is the car being slow and the dealer not thinking anything is wrong.
With my 3 BAR 93p tune the symptoms are more pronounced and the blow off is very rapid and repetitive.
Not sure where to go from here. Someone had suggested a possible leaky BOV?
