I figured out how to deal with my multi-contour seats. I gave the SHO to my wife and bought a new MK-S Sport w/o multi-contour seats, problem solved.

I know have had issue's also with wether or not they the same other are having I don't know. But mine after using back massage lumbar stays inflated and won't deflate all the way. Pressing the saved setting buttons will not restore either, raise and lowering lumbar didn't even know it had for sure. Apparently this function does not work on mine I have tried. The only way I can get to deflate completely is to turn on the back massage and when start bags deflate completely and then quickly turn off.

Here's a scanned image of the dubious laminated card that details the "how-to" on those multi-contoured seat controls.

I've received two of these thus far myself......

Hope this de-mystifies the day to day operations of our fancy seat controls :thumb:

Boy, you must rate. Getting 2 of the cards, I never received any of them. However, after a lot of goofing around with the buttons, I think I have my seats all figured out, although there are still times they inflate and surprise me. Every time I unlock the car and open the door, I can hear the compressor running, but normally it's the passenger side seat that inflates the lower back. I will have to reset the memory on that seat, I believe my wife set it for her favorite, but it could have been on of my friends...one of the few!

Are you sure you're hearing the compressor rather than the fuel pump? Do you also hear it when you open the trunk?

I never received any of the cards for the seats either.

Never considered it could be the fuel pump...but no I do not hear it when I open the trunk. Also it only runs for a short time (5-7)seconds) before shutting off, which makes me think it is not the fuel pump.

I may just "rate"

:theyareontome: ....or I just may NOT "rate"

Ok, so I threw a little of my Pennsylvania Dutch "talk" into the conversation, or maybe it's just an expression that us old guys used back in the 60's...some of us did talk funny, and we were not hippies...

Thanks Mike, unfortunately this has not provided me the info that I wanted. I know how to use the lumbar controls and the massage button. What I was hoping for was some instructions on how to change the actual pressure of the massage in each bladder. I find the massage to be too weak in the lower back and that's where I need the most pressure. Being 6'8" ain't easy on the ole back :frown:

The inflate and deflate buttons still work during the massage function. When the bladder is massaging that you want to inflate more, press and hold the "inflate" button.

Really? Everytime I push the inflate button while the massage is working, it turns off the massage......
I'm going to have to go try that again just to be sure

Are you pushing the "Inflate" button, or the massage button? Inflate is part of the 4-way toggle, not the rocker switch.

Yes, I'm using the 4-way switch to inflate. Just tried it again while driving home from work and when I try to inflate, the massage stops.... I can inflate the lumbar when the massage is off and then turn it on, but it seems like it resets to the normal lumbar inflation.
Basically, I want to inflate the lower back bladder to the maximum inflation while the massage is on. I know how to use all the switches but I can't seem to make it work

This may or may not be the problem, are you guys also programming your IA keys with any type of memory? Maybe they were pre-programmed? On page 131 of the manual, it tells you how to program the (seat/mirror/pedal) memory feature to the IA remote. On page 132, it tells how to deprogram the memory feature on the remote. If your remote is programmed, and you unlock your car, it would default to the remote programming, then if you hit the position 1 or 2 button, it would override what is programmed into your remotes.

It goes hand and hand with the memory seating feature on page 156. Actually, I would use the instructions on page 131 of the manual.
