Unfortunately my dealer has my manuals on order and from what I understand the bladders are adjustable on these seats which would be great because the freakin middle one on the seat back blows up when I start the car and pokes the middle of my back out. When I push the up/down/in/out multifunction that only changes the lower bladder but not the middle or upper one. Also can't seem to get the bottom to really change at all as well.

Any advice or if someone can scan and post some manual pages that would rock. I tried google'ing it but just get press release crap, no manual or instructions. It's almost perfect just before the massage starts and it deflats everything but I can't seem to set that as the default

Any help here would be appreciated!

I know what you mean - mine will go a little crazy every once in a while too.

What I've found works is press down on the lumbar switch 3 times. Then hold it to the back for a really long time and it will deflate slowly. Press up once and do the same. Press a 3rd time and do the same. That will get them to deflate. Then I press and hold the #1 memory button and that cures it.

I've had the SHO for 6 months and it's done this twice - don't know if it is me vs the wife in or settings or if there is a real issue.

But we (wife and I) love the massage feature!

The dealer didn't supply you with the required owners manual? It's explained on page 148, lumbar suppot on 147, 151. You can also log into the Ford website and download info on seats and anything else. Hope that helps!

Didn't think about the Ford site, I'll try that next. No they had to order the manuals someone swiped them. I hope to have them soon since there is probably some other cool stuff I have yet to play with :dribble:

I dont understand why it blows up when I start the car, have reset my presets, but still happens intermit. P.I.T.A. I would like to trade for non-multicontour seats.

I'm very anxious to try this out. The second day I had my 2011 the upper back portion started poking me in the back as soon as I turned off the feature. I checked the owner's manual which describes how to increase and reduce pressure when it's operating, but nothing that suggested there would be an effect when the feature is off. Thanks for the info, I hope it works for me too!

I must have more of an issue. The steps in post #2 above work to deflate the bladders. I then reprogrammed both of the driver memories, turned the multi-contour seat back on, it works as expected. However when I turn the feature off the upper back bladder inflates firm again. It gets so firm and the pump keeps running that I'm afraid that it might pop. Hopefully there's a pressure release valve on the bladders. Running through the steps again will deflate it (which makes it tolerable in the short term) until I turn the multi-contour seat on again. The passenger side still works fine.

Sounds like a warranty issue. Mine deflat as they should when I turn the feature off and go back to whatever I set the memory seat to. Everyone once in awhile it will blow one up a little more then I recall, but that could be me. Just do that setup and deflat them with the car running when they get where you want hold Memory 1 (or 2 whichever is yours) until it beeps and it should remember that setup.

I'll try it a few more times, but after each time I've used the steps suggested in Post #2 above to deflate them, I pressed and held the buttons for memory 1 and 2 until I got the beep, indicating they recorded the settings. I agree that it sounds like a warranty issue. Since I have a way of getting the seats comfortable, I'll probably give it a few more drives to attempt to uncover more issues so I can take the car in one time and hopefully get all the warranty work the car will ever need done at once. ;)

Ok, this has been driving me nuts for awhile so I've finally decided to ask.... In my owners manual there is NO advice or instructions on how the multi-contour seats work!!! I never received a laminated instruction card either. I like my seats but I would like to adjust the pressure for parts of my back.
Now that I work for Ford I can't seem to find anything either.

Can someone who has posted in this thread PLEASE scan either the owners manual (maybe it's different in the U.S.???) where it describes how to increase and decrease the bladder pressure on the multi contour seats or this so-called laminated instruction card?
For the record, all my Canadian owners manual says is "push the button forward for a butt massage and push the button back for a back massage and press it again to make it stop" and that's it!

Some help would be GREATLY appreciated :salute:

Send me your address to [email protected] and I will send you a copy of the card. I will also try and scan it tomorrow and post.

Email sent! I appreciate this. I've found the US manual on line and I can't seem to find any instructions that are different than the Canadian manual regarding these seats.....
So I'm hoping this card is different.

:thankyou:
