Upgrading JBL system

ok well my brother just botht this 92 Sho and wants to put a kenwood headunit in. I pulled out the factory unnit and hooked up the harness. the cd player turns on, but only when u touch and disconnect the amp turn on wire do you hear music but only for a sec. also he keeps blowing fuses and we have gone through a buttt load of fuses. my SHO only came with two hookups for cd palyer, but his came with three? please i need some input

If his came with 3 connectors behind the deck, one of them might go directly to the speakers, automatically bypassing the factory amp. you can use a ford standard connector (no need for the premium sound amp-bypass). This was the case in my '93 ATX w/ prem sound (not JBL).
My 3rd connector (for the speakers) was attached to a plastic thing to keep it from rattling around. I was pleasently suprised that i would not have to do the amp-bypass.

Does the original radio work? I would double check your wiring, you could possibly be shorting something.
