WOW WOW WOW
Loaded a SCT tune from Torrie (Unleashedtuning.com)

And this thing is now super Quick::omgsho:

Acutually chirped the tires and shifts instantly.
I choose the "boost" tune of the 3 tunes that come with it.

Cost was around $490

Nice. I love how easy it is to squeeze a huge amount of power out of a turbo engine with just a tune and a hew hundred bucks. I came really close to purchasing a SHO this years, but decided on getting a boat instead. I think there is a F-150 with EcoBoost in my future.

Cheers.

You are right, the new F-150 is getting the EcoBoost as its main engine. When this happens, expect a greater interest into the aftermarket development and research to make "go fast" parts and applications. I truly cannot wait. I have spoken to a few people, and the main reason why they havent put time and effort into aftermarket parts for the SHO is the lack of interest from the EcoBoost community, which is just 2010 SHO owners. I truly beleive that in the next 1-2 years, there will be an overwhelming response from the aftermarket on this car.

Lets not forget that it usually takes 1-2 years for parts research and development before we ever see any new type of aftermarket for brand new released engines.

Patience, grasshoppa!

Would also guess that the 2010 SHO community of 7,400, plus the EB Flex (3,500 est.) and Lincoln EB owners (maybe 4,000 total), don't have the desire to mod, like the Mustang/Camaro/G8 GT group. Plus this engine is much more complicated & costly to mod/tune than a basic non-turbo / non- supercharged V-8. Exhaust is pretty restrictive, but not much HP gain in cats-back because of the cats almost 90 deg. bends. Have to work on both ends to truly get the most response. But then you go the the limitations with the rest of the drive train, and also cooling issues.

Also... these things are heavy!

I am very happy where I am with my "Brick"! Have about $3,000 -$3,500. in all my stuff,
including Springs, lighter 18" wheels & summer max performance tires, exhaust, tune, intake etc. Have a really well-rounded package. Very responsive handling, rides firmer but not harsh, gets better mileage from being lowered/tuned and can run a 13.5!

The tunes by Torrie are for sure the best bang for the buck. I am gunning for Bob and his 13.5 Brick. Come on cooler weather. :stuck:

Remember T.A..... IT....WAS....A............SLOOOOOW.....TRACK......:swing::thankyou:

Friend with the 09'G8 GT (Spt. Red like mine) but with Pace Headers, NO Cats,
A Vararam Over the Radiator CAI and Vector Engine & Tranny tune, could only turn a 13.44 & an 13.67. Another friend in MI is running 13.3's with his 09 G8, with only a CAI & tune.... no headers or exhaust.

Hey... I know I'm dreaming!!!!:hail::hail::hail:

Leaving for FL next Sat -Oct 16. Plan on testing the Brick and my White 08' G8 at Bradenton a couple times this winter with MI friend. That G8 has Kooks, under drive pulley, RotoFab CAI (looks like my Flex's) H pipe & Magnaflows, and a Vector ECM & TCM Tune. Should run in high 12's on a good nite. Also only weighs 4K instead of nearly 5K!

Flexy Baby.... YOU GOTTA GO DAMN FAST!!!!! (That is for both of our Bricks -T.A.!):laugh_ti::laugh_ti::laugh_ti:

Hey now, here comes another Brick, with some mods next week. Nothing with the suspension or wheel/tires as I still need to navigate farm roads and fire roads with it, but doing a CAI and tune. Torrie is sending me a +30hp tune (timing, air/fuel), a +30hp tune (timing, air/fuel) + shift firmness, and a +60hp tune (timing, air/fuel, increased manifold pressure) + shift firmness.

Question for those with tunes. Can tunes be done on the fly, or does the car have to be off? How long does it take? Can you revert back to factory calibration at any time?

You cant change the tune on the fly, your essentially reprogramming your computer. Yes, you can revert to the factory calibration. If you're using a handheld device, before it installs the tune or custom tune on it, it saves your current program.
