Trunk opens by itself!

So, the trunk just opens by itself! When I close it without the fob being interfered with it keeps clicking itself open. I had to reach behind inner trunk seal and disconnect the latch mechanism.
Anyone have that issue before? I think I need to replace the latch mechanism but wanted to hear from you experienced folks 1st.

Not the latch. If you test the voltage at the connector, you may find that there is voltage going to the latch. This should only happen when the button is pressed.

Check up front and see if the button in the dash is stuck in the engaged position. Normally it should want to go up and disengage. Try disconnecting that button.

If the trunk still is popping open look to a short or the alarm. The factory alarm is just behinf the brake pedal IIRC. Disconnect it, see if the problem persists.
