Tripping Balls

Well i finally got the SHO out on the road today after 4 months... Well, the first few drivers were perfect. It ran awesome, shifted awesome, idled decently. The only leaks were the PS pressure line ( i knew that). Well, the rack was howling as expected and foamed what little PS fluid i put in it. and then that finally gave out. Ok, here comes the weird part, (i didnt see it, but Joe (jthod) drove it so he knows better) The tack went up to 8k back down and repeated a few times, ALL the lights came one. the HVAC controls did something (i cant remember what he said) and the ABS light came on. At this time it started running REALLY ******. Bad to no idle, stalls, no power etc. WTF could it be?

ECM harness loose? Bad ECM ground even ... sounds like something weird electrically. Alternator seem ok? Headlights good and bright? That sort of thing?

Was the clock display dimming-out ?

Check alternator output - sounds like an alternator failure.

Alt. was what I was thinking too. Turn a corner and put it in second, and the EATC light ALL the way up, ABS light, batt light, and a big head to the steering wheel almost-stall. It did this two or three times.

No exhaust after the y-pipe=massive loudness:woohoo:

all while driving around busy streets in Omaha, no hood, no plates, basically no exhaust.........nah, NO WORRIES!!!

When it ran, it pulled pretty damn well though.

It might be!! If the power steering didnt go out, id drive it now and see if it acted up.

BTW, whats involved in replacing the rack.. Im hoping its just the pump and pressure line.. Im getting good at replacing pumps!!

Where is the ECM ground at?

check the major ground that mounts to the fender right bhind the airbox. kind of the same symptoms that i had when this ground was loose on my car. everything went completly opposite of what it should, the wipers came on, interior lights turned on, head lights turned off, heater blew on high, and all four corner lights came on. pretty much every idiot light on the dash came on. because of the bad ground everything back fed and messed up all the things that worked off that ground. tighted her up and it fixed everything.
