SinisterSHO said:Now that I like. What do they look like with the brakes on? Did you make the reverse lights LED, also?
92sho16 said:everything i read on hidplanet said that i would be dissapointed with the output of white leds.
blacklabel said:You can get some really bright leds if thats what you were looking for. Usually leds are around 5,000-10,000 mcd, but you can get white leds that measure 135,000 mcd! The led tails look great by the way.I would imagine it would take a lot of work to do something like that.
92sho16 said:Yea i my first version of tail lights were using 72 12,000 leds and they werent 1/3 as bright as those pictured, its more of the viewing angle that matters, not to say the light output isnt most important but the leds i ended up using have a 70* view angle vs the standard 20* for 5mm leds, the leds i used are Lumiled brand which are pretty much the best from what i gather and they dont make a white led in the superflux version. plus i figure the tail lights are what really matter for led the reverse lights are on about 1% of the time the car is driving so i said the heck with an extra couple hrs of work for the reverse lights.
