Greetings,

Does anyone here have their car windows tinted 30%+ all around? If so could you post a couple pictures? I'm trying to get a feel for how my 2015 SHO would look like at that window tint level. Also what type of tint did you have done (color/type).

Due to my eyes I can technically go to 65% on all the windows (short story sun = bad).

Ty in advance!

Very nice! What brand/type if you don't mind me asking? The installers here have lots of options!
Thanks...
No idea of brand though... Dealer had it put on.

My 14 SHO is the same Ingot Silver as OmaHahn Mine is 25% (Tx Legal) technically the front driver/passengers window is 25% all other windows except windshield can be lower. I kept 25% all they way around to keep the appearance uniform. 5% eyebrow (upper windshield) and smoke for the headlight lens.

NOTE: Headlight tint is measured the opposite of window tint. Example 5% with windows will mean 95% percent of light is blocked. 5% on headlight film is just that 5% so 95 percent of light (BEAM PATTERN) is transmitted through. The headlight was the first level down from clear. It gives a sporty look and blends in the rest of the silver paint. Basically dark enough to provide a sporty look but not overly obvious and prevent unwanted attention.

The SHO isn't ceramic but my 2015 Expedition is. The vendor for the 14 at that time ceramic was either unavailable or overly priced. Either way the LLumar worked and the installer for the SHO did my previous 2013 SEL.

NOTE #2: If you are looking to get the eyebrow tint be careful. A lot of states allow windshield tint to the AS-1 Line. the AS-1 Line is basically a standard reference line on the windshield. the line should be on every car but can vary in area. Example start at top drivers corner of the windshield. Follow down the outside of the glass and you should see the AS-1 Line. With my case the AS-1 Line for my SHO is almost 7 inches down. Part of the formula for the AS-1 line is related to the slope of the windshield. Example my SHO is 7" my 2015 Expedition with a higher windshield the AS-1 Line is only 5 inches. AS-1 Line is very faint and a dark color ink. so pay close attention. I would suspect that your As-1 Line is in the 7" area. There should be a AS-1 index marker on both drivers and passengers side.

A bit long of a explanation but needed to get a background.

The reason I say be careful was in my case it was originally trimmed to the AS-1 Line. At that time it was legal for a Maryland registration and still is. The problem was with me driving my normal comfortable seated position the Eyebrow tint was way too low and I was basically getting the tint right at eye level and to me at least caused a major distraction. He was able to trim it back in place to about 4-5 inches which was effective with reducing overhead glare but didn't cause me the distraction. With the SHO when we went in he remembered and had me sit in the vehicle first. I made a mark on the window where my normal seated position was. He put a piece of painters tape on the outside and used the tape as a point to how to cut the film. Turned out perfect and only had to have the computer cut the piece once.

20% all around and I wouldn't go lighter than 35%. Mine is basic tint.

And OP, the larger the number, the lighter the tint will be.

I personally think much below 25% is asking to get at least a second look by the police. Here in TX You can go below 25% for the windows behind the driver and the infamous windshield "EyeBrow" tint. Make a note of the AS-1 Line that is a common reference point for tint laws, most states say AT..XX inches above or below. The problem is the AS-1 Line at least for mine was about seven inches down. Way too much and although legal got in the way of my perepehial vision. I had about 4 inches straight across and seems to work perfectly. I did 25% all the way around to keep a uniform look. (Taurus and Expedition) The Taurus 25% installed in 2015 tinted around 28% Turns out that my 25% (Expedition) actually tinted at around 24% Not enough to look obvious and even the officer said it looked right. You could probably argue tint meter calibration but again it doesn't look obvious as below but you never know when some hick town sheriff has nothing better to do on a Friday night. The rear of my expedition has Privacy glass already installed so when I went to 25% it really came out as around 10% almost LIMO but again no factor since behind the driver. I can see pretty much perfectly even at night. Also remember tint installed at two different parts of the country and different vendors...approximately same time of year although about three years apart.

Mr. Hill....That 35% does look good on the Blue I had the Deep Impact Blue with the same 35%

You are correct, however there are exceptions. I am not looked at twice here in AZ for my 5% tint. Also with my 5% tint it keeps my car really cool here. It was 117 yesterday and for the whole summer to this date, I havent set the AC below 70....

Yous guys are lucky ! Here in New York we basically can’t have any tint on are cars by law have to have 70% light flow through. That is pretty much factory tinted. Back window can be as dark as u like only if you have side mirrors on the car. And no more than a six inch strip on the windshield. Can’t get the car inspected if u have tint on any of the side windows. (Sedans) that is. SO DUMB ! Yous cars look really nice all tinted.
