Timing Question's

Well I bought this car a few week's ago it’s a 91 mocha 5spd. When I got it was only runnin on 5 cyl. so I replaced the plugs & wires and now it runs a lot better BUT when u punch from an idle it hesitates for a second then revs up.

So my questions are….(Bear w/ me here iam new to the SHO's and haven’t done much research) Is their any way of adjusting the timing w/ out the computer compensating for adjustment? And would a bad crank sensor or cam sensor cause this problem? And lastly is any adjustment to these senor's?

I'd pull the codes first.

There are no "adjustments" for the CPS(<just for installation), CID, or TPS.

Sounds like your MAF could use a cleaning, as well as some new O2's. But, before we get into that, pull the codes.

EDIT: That MX-3 is very nice ! I love that KLZ roar too . You mind posting your mods?

A dirty MAF will not always trip a CEL. But a dirty MAF will hinder performance.

The O2's, they should trip a CEL, but if they are old, then they are not going to preform well.

Motor

-2.5 KLZE
-millenia IM
-J-spec ECU
-SS Autochrome headers w/test pipe
-unorthodox UDP
-ACT stage1 clutch
-findenza alum. flywheel
-custom 2.5'' exhaust w/cheap fartpipe

Suspension+breaks

-Intrax 2.75" lowering springs
-Corksport front+rear strut tower braces
-SRD polyurathain lower control arm bushings
-KVR crossed drilled rotors front+rear
-17" konig trouble 5 star wheels

Appearence mods

-all red taillights
-"Blackedout" headlights+turn signal housings
-10,000k H.I.D. kit
-red strobe light kit in headlights
-all black headliner+plastics




Right now the heads are being rebuilt due to drpoing a valve .
A port & polish job is also being done along w/ a mild set of sreet cams

but I just ran the car for a bit and no cel. And i forgot to add that i belive its runnin rich aslo because the exhaust fumes really stink wich would also be from what u stated MAF & O2's correct?

Have you pulled the codes yet? (even though there is no CEL, there still can be codes)
