ive been wanting to change the head unit in my sho but the only thing stopping me is that when u upgrade the head unit the radio buttons located on the dash near the cluster are made obsolete. ive changed the one in my lx and jsut delt with the loss. the question is does anyone know of a head unit that would be compatible with those buttons or is it hopeless? thnks for the help.

You can get an adapter that will make the buttons work on almost any head unit. Do a google search for "steering wheel button adapters" or somthing along those lines.

reason

the reason (i believe) is you dont have to reach DOWN to get to them.. try not taking your eyes off the road, and finding the memory or volume buttons or scan... not too easy is it, and i bet you looked down you cheater! haha. the 3 buttons by the wheel are almost in line with the road, much safer that way, and its nice to be able to rest your hand on the dash and scan through memory settings with your thumb (when there's nothing but talking on all the stations anyway)

edit: i think i'm going to get one of these button adapters hopefully itll work as well as it says it should.

Amen. I'm going to be replacing my stocker with a Sony MP3 player from my old SHO and I'd like to make these buttons useable for the Sony as well. I've gotten quite used to them again :) Either that or use them for a stealth nitrous setup..*dreams*

In my red car they didn't work, cause the previous owner had aftermarket stuff, and jacked something up, and there's no speakers in my new car!
