In the 16'' Size, what in paticular makes them have the ability to fit over 13'' Brake kits? Is it the 40mm Offset?

I'm considering grabbing another set of wheels in the near future. A 16x7 for the street and occasional runs to the dragstrip would be nice. Knowing that the TD PR2 would be my only option for this would be sweet.

Any input is appreciated.

I believe its just the design of the wheel that allows it to fit. The area where the spokes meet the main part of the wheel doesnt have a lot of extra material there. That said i have only seen the cobra calipers fit behind them i dont know about those wilwoods you have.

Yea the spokes have alot of clearance for calipers. It is very close, you can't even fit a stick on balancing magnet around the caliper. I think you may be ok with the wilwoods but I would check with Josh at SHOnut first. He has some custom calipers on his wife's car if I recall...not sure whether they were wilwoods or not. He would definitely know, also maybe Lance Cheney has a wilwood setup similar to yours I think but might not have the wheels though.

Josh's wife's car has radial mount AP racing calipers. Lance has wilwood FSL's like Sam's but he's running a larger than 13" rotor. As suggested, I would check with Josh anyway - as a TD reseller, he may know. He also has a TCE/wilwood kit on his blower car.

With a 13 inch rotor the cobra calipers are super super closer to the wheel, and in hard maneuvering can slightly scrape against it. 13 with cobras are just tucked in the wheels super tight. From a track standpoint, really should just go with the 17s to get adequate cooling to a caliper. At least, thats what Id imagine. Theres just not much room there.

If you can fit those 16's over your brakes, I would stick with those on the track. 16x7's are they?

My next track Tire is going to be a 225/45/17 on my 17x7 PR2's.

I wanted 16'' wheels to fit a sticky set of Road tires for occasional street driving and my bi weekly "Im bored let's go to the drag strip" moments. Handling on the street is really not my main concern as I don't push this thing at all when it's rarely street driven.
