Swapping AX4N valve body pan

What is the easiest way, short of dropping the tranny, to remove the side access pan on the transmission? Am I better off lowering the subframe or removing it completely? I don't have a cherry picker to hold everything in place so I will be supporting things by jacks and jack stands. Anything I should look out for? Special tools I'll need? I'm without transportation until I fix the car and I will only have access to harbor freight/auto parts stores for a few hours tomorrow so I would like to know what extra crap I'll need before I start the project.

I always thought you didn't have to remove anything big to get to the side pan? I would want to remove the wire harness or at least get it out of the way, though. Also the air box and throttle body (or the whole intake, which would help a bit).

I'm sure you know but just to make sure, this is on a Gen 3.

I watched a forum member replace the OD clip in the tranny once with it in the car and this pan was a total ***** to remove and replace in the car. Just figured that there is an easy button I can push to make this a little less stressful. Knowing my luck, this will turn into a 42 hour endeavor.
