ok well i just drove from everett,Washington to las,Vegas Nevada none spot basically drove perfect....stopped to take a nap in north vegas cause it was to late to move into my place... well anyway i start it up in the morning i see smoke soo im like WTF!! well i find its just a leak in the hose that goes from the block to the throttle body not sure what its for anyone?? well i didnt know when you take that little hose off that well all the coolant comes out ROFL and it leaked on the 2 connectors i had to unplug to gain access a grey and a black one also everything below it,well i replaced the hose easy fix was i suppose to put coolant in take hose before i connected it to the throttle body?? well i cleaned the connectors up with some cleaner?
well anyways when i started it up it surged badly climb to like 2 grand then drop to like 100rpm..... then it stopped and now the idle sits at almost 1500rpm??? and only sometimes when your driving it will kinda surge as kinda like when u push in the clutch and dont rev match surge ****. also got a intermittent Check engine light then it went away

Im really confused to me it sounds like a vaccum leak but i didnt touch any of that or a wet connector im sooo lost help me!!!!

You might have unplugged the TPS= Throttle Position Sensor it's the one located on the front of the Throttle Body and may need to let it relearn the idle. That hose unplugged/replaced is a coolant hose and is to warm the Throttle Body no need to worry about filling that with coolant it will do that itself, that is only needed if you drive your car in the winter. You can bypass all those if you want to, but I would unhook your battery for 10+ minutes then hook it back up then start your car and let it run for a bit. That might be your problem, try it and let us know what happens.

k ill try that, i dont believe i unplugged the tps but ill check it that would make sense though ill unplug the batt and reset it... its weird though cause it surges only sometimes cause seems like i have so much to fix on my sho i cant enjoy it something is dangerously wrong with the steering i think its a bad rack but it tuggs and pulls replaced the outter ties and everything feels tight and so basically cant enjoy the 1000 dollar suspension i put on ROFL

:thankyou:

Yeah sounds like the Rack to me, these cars can be fun once they brought up to speed in the maintenance aspect.

Do the rpm's bounce when you are at certain speeds? I had a similar problem and cleaning the IAC helped. Just something else easy to think about.

tried it and i checked the connections and it didnt work....cause it still has a high idle and surges acts like when u switch gears without a rev match when your driving could it be idle control? but i thought that was only basically used during idle or maybe the tps its self? what about that vaccum line thats connected to the throttle body it looks like its cracking a lil bit could that cause this? im soo lost i just want it to work correctly plz sho gods :hail: im in vegas anyone near???

well shoot i went and looked at it again today i found that a line to the secondaries was cracked and leaking replaced that well started the car back up and idle still the same high i did surge again when i started driving it a lil bit then i was like f*** this soo i hit the iac with a soft hammer to see if the plunger is stuck the idle came up and then dropped down to the correct idle then i drove it around i noticed the idle would come back up to like 1200rpm then i got it to eventually come back down to like 850 idk below 1000rpm......

how accurate are the temp gauges on these cars cause i see that thing bouncing around i turn the car off and just watch the needle having a hay day going from N to M to A then when you drive it goes from the A to the top of the N then back down N when i shut it off cause im like no thats not right mmm maybe the fans not coming on, i mean when i replaced that hose i thought i burped the system good but it overheated the coolant burnt it bubbled soo i replaced it and burpped the system over and over turn the heater and defroster on squeeze the upper radiator hose gaw... i just dont get it i dont see white smoke or oil in the coolant but ill check again is it a bad head gasket but i still have lots of power **** with almost 150k on the clock 3.2 here i come but im sooo confused cause i replaced the thermostat with a sho source one.... i knew i shouldnt have drove the sho for like 16hrs straight .....grrr..maybe shos dont like vegas maybe they like Washington better ROFL

I don't think hitting the IAC with a hammer will fix it if that's the problem.

No problem, glad it's fixed

Don't be surprised if it gets bad again. From what I've found cleaning the IAC ends up only being a crutch. Replacement is the long term solution.
