The switch still works but you have to 'fish' your finger in after it. . . one time I got some sparks flying for a second or two. . . can I just pull that cover off and replace the switch back into it's place. . .BTW, I have no idea how it happened . . .

Any help please SHOers . ..

That same stupid thing just happened to me too! It looks like the two plastic "welds" that hold the switch to the cover broke, which I am just going to get two small screws and attach it back to the cover. It would be easier to do it with the cover off, but it doesn't seem to want to come off too easily. My question is are there screws holding the cover to the roof, or are they all clips? I'm scared of pulling it off too hard and breaking something. Does anyone know how that cover is attached to the roof?

Thanks

To remove the cover housing without breaking it:

Pry both light lenses out. Insert a small screwdriver between the center-facing edge of the lens and the housing and pry the lens downward. It will pop out. Do both sides. If you're lucky and the plastic is not too brittle, the tabs won't break.

Remove both light bulbs by pulling them out of their sockets.

Under each bulb is a Phillips-head screw. Remove both, don't loose them.

Drop the front of the cover a small amount, then pull the whole assembly rearward to disengage the rear "hooks" from the inside of the roof panel.

With the cover dropped, you can disconnect the electrical connector and take the cover into the house to repair.

I used a big old glob of JB Weld on both sides of the switch to secure mine back in place. Make sure you thoroughly clean the surfaces with alcohol first so that the epoxy-based glues can adhere.

Put it back together and use the switch.

Same thing here, All I had around was Stuper glue, Still holding after four months, PO had used hot glue, You can guess how good that holds when it started getting hot outside. Not too good!

I used that new 5 minute JB Weld on mine thumb . I also replaced that crappy button with an extra power window button that I had. It fits the hole perfectly but I had to trim the bracket the switch snaps into a bit.

Do a search for "Moonfoof Problem" without the quotes. Yes, the topic title is misspelled.

I hot glued (use the high temp stuff) mine, since the super glue i had was cheap.
Still in the right place after 4 months.
(I used a lot, and it didnt melt on any hot days when i used the switch)
