IIRC, SHOShop made some CF bars for the Gen 1 and 2 cars. Not sure of the construction, because I don't know how to make CF stuff, but I always thought CF was supposed to be stronger than steel?

Bob is so slow on delivery, I have all but given up on my bar that I paid for almost
a year ago. His quality looks good, but he speak with forked tongue on delivery.

I think we all know this. I've sent him e-mails and he doesn't reply to me, hope he replies to his customers.

I don't know about being stronger than steel. But it's suppose to be stong. I would rather it be steel though...

Glass is stronger than steel too, but I do not suggest making a strut tower brace from it. "Strength" can be measured in a number of different ways, such as in compression, in torsion, in shear, etc. For this application, I strongly suspect that steel is the best bet. Carbon fibre is commonly used in the masts of high performance sailing vessls because you want it to bend, but then recover the its original straightness, and when bending, to do so in a very controlled way. On a strut tower brace, no bending at all would seem more the objective.

I would think it would depend on the wall thickness of the conduit. Something to consider also, is that aluminium gets stress fracturing much more quickly than steel when placed in tension. Since the idea of the brace is to be in tension whenever you put the car into a curve, I think the life expectancy of such a brace would be short, but considering the life expectancy left in the cars, it might not matter. And it would depend on how hard you push the car too, I suspect.

Update: The Bars are a replica of the SHOShop Bar. I hear they are working on getting them fully adjustable for lowered and camber issue SHOs.

I want to start on a list of those interested, so I know who to choose from when we are ready for the buy. No less than 5 bars will be made.
