Hello,
Please help a fellow SHO owner - which part is the strut rod bushings?

This is the last component that I plan on investigating for the shuddering I get while braking....thanks in advance.

Front or Rear?

Front: climb under the nose of the car. Find the front of the engine subframe. You'll see 1 large nut (horizontal with the ground), keeping a large cupped washer & bushing to the engine subframe. The nut is on the end of the strut rod, which runs to the lower control arm / ball joint assembly at the knuckle.

Rear: climb under the car near the rear wheel / knuckle. Trace the rod that runs from the bottom of the knuckle forward to the jack point (well, what we use as the jack point anyway). On the forward side of the jack point box, is a large nut & bushing set locking it in there.

You'll have a bushing pair at the knuckle on the rear, and a bushing at the front lower control arm as well.

This might help, it is from the '86-'95 Taurus/Sable Repair Guide, compliments of the Autozone website. #9 in the pic is the front strut rod, you can see how it is attached to the subframe and lower control arm. The bushings are on either end of the rod. In the pic, only the rod-to-frame bushings are clearly shown, but you get the idea.
