strange idle problem

From a cold start it sounds fine. Idles at 1000 rpm. After about 5 minutes it starts to jump between 400 too 1000 rpms. Sometimes it will stall out. after it warms up a bit it is usually runs fine. I changed out the IAC with a used one that I cleaned up with carb cleaner and it runs the same. Thanks for the help! Josh

If you thinhk it might be the maf, unplug it, if it runs good then, thats your problem.

I just went through something like this two days ago. My car would NOT idle, period. Not throwing any codes, not doing anything. You could start it up and it would shut right off. Turned out it was the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). That would DEFINITELY be the first place to look. But when you go to replace it, make sure you have your old one, there were six different ones from '95 according to checker. Hope it's some kind of help!
