Got in a pretty bad accident tonight on the way home. Driving my dads new '02 GMC Sierra. I took it to work to change oil and tranny fluid.

Just as I'm turning left onto my gravel road off of the highway, BAM!!, and I mean freakin BAM. I was hit in the LR wheel, front of the box side, rear door, drivers door. I was still going fast enough I ended up in a snow bank on the corner.

Apparently they were trying to pass me as I was turning. The dude got out, and in my best Asian accecnt said: " I thought you going other way..?"
Me: "We can talk when the Sherrif gets here." So, a left turn signal must mean right somewhere on the other side of the globe.

This accident could have been much worse, but I'm ok, and so are the other people. I was alone, there was three in thier Pontiac Bonneville.

****** part: My dad just bought this, still hasn't even gotten plates on it, and this was the first time I had even driven it. I had just taken it in to look it over and service it. I even washed it for him.

I'll get pics up soon, but I'm thinking this will be a check to the tune of the vehicle value. LR wheel, Box side, cab corner, both rear and front door, nerf bar. Hopefully the rear end didn't get tweaked. It was ahard enough hit that the weight ring on the outside of the wheel was broken.

Oh yeah, and my Dad is in Orlando for a week, he doesn't know yet...

Joe that Sucks! Glad you are OK thou! I would wait , if possible a week to tell him & not ruin his vacation!
You may have a problem with it not being plated!

The plate thing wasn't a big deal, it was just purchased less than 30 days ago.

Purchase price: $8000

KBB Value: $10,500

If there's anything I can do to help, let me know.

I typically don't get tailgated unless I'm in the SHO. Seems like people have an aversion to B&W Crown Vics.

Glad you're ok. If you're still feeling neck pain after 72 hrs go and see a doc.

I talked to him last night, he was just glad to know I was OK. At least he didn't have a lot of time to get attached to it...

I like those Sierra's. Nice trucks. Too bad someone wasn't thinking the other night. Sigh...

Well, got two estimates. One was for about $7300, the other was for over $8000. They valued the truck at just over $12,000, so it will not be totaled. But....they cannot get it done until mid-March.

We were able to do a little work, and get the other insurance company to pay for a rental vehicle. ****** part is they couldn't get us 4x4 pickup. It was either a 4x4 Exploder or a 2wd pickup. We just got about 5" of snow, and we live in the sticks. So, my dad will be driving a '08 Exploder for about a month.
