Has anyone ever tried these. They clamp onto your springs in two places, thus lowering the spring by about an inch. Is this the poor stupid man's way of lowering, or does it work okay??

I don't think they will work on a car with struts and yes it is the cheap way to lower a car.

Yes they will work on a car with struts. My friend had them on his 95 Toyota Avalon. It looked nice with his chrome 18"s. I wouldn't do it though. You take a whole coil away from spring travel, it can possibly bust out the strut towers if you hit a big bump. Springs aren't that expensive, I would just save up and do it right.
