My car is a stock '90.
I have an issue sometimes when I start the car up, with more frequency lately. After it revs past 1,500 and drops back down, sometimes it wants to stall out and I have to tap on the gas to get the revs to even out at idle. And sometimes it doesn't even out, revs don't sustain, and it shuts off.
I also have had issues when I take the gas cap off with a lot of pressure hissing out. I think the fuel pump does make the electronic engage sound when I initiate the ignition before turning it over.
Could it be as simple as needing a good carbon cleaning fuel additive, or as major as a dying fuel pump?
Thanks
