Battery finally quit, swapped it out until i can get up to ford to do the warranty. Heard on here the life span is around 2 years and it quit almost exactly 2 years and a month later (12/8/21).

Sorted that out and finally got around to the trunk "upgrades" slapped a piece of plywood in place of the old warped cardboard, glued the carpet down and installed a pull handle off a road case, reorganized my tools so they all fit under the floor, and installed a mysterious switch .

Every day I park mine in a garage at a college, every day I get the same space on the end for less chances of being hit, every day I do a walk around to make sure I don't have any new dings or scratches. So far so good but I am paranoid when it comes to parking, people are generally clumsy and inconsiderate, yesterday a woman had her corolla door open against my car, before I could say anything she shut the door and walked away

When I was in my early 20's I had a '00 Civic that I had just got back from the body shop (full Cervinis Sniper body kit with cowl hood and metal Z3 fenders). I had just had it painted and put back together a few weeks ago. It was a perfect black with flakes.

I went to a party with a stoner buddy and we parked close to the party but out of the way of foot traffic (ya know, to show it off). He wanted to roll one so we went and sat in the car. While we were there a couple guys walked up to the car next to us to leave. The passenger flung his door open with such force that it not only hit my door but nearly bounced back to a full closed position. He jumped in the car and pretended nothing happened even as I'm cussing him through the window. The driver just starts casually driving off so in the heat of the moment I chased them as far as I could, swinging at the passenger the whole time. Nobody at the party "knew" either guy so I was stuck dealing with the damage myself.

Later that summer I drove it to the beach and it came home with minor dings all over both sides. Some people can't stand for other people to have nice things (especially younger people). was devastated.

My car now has a couple minor dings from my kids being careless getting out of my wife's SUV . No punches were thrown.

I showed a buddy of mine the car about 2 months after I bought it and the first thing out of his mouth was "how is it so clean with kids?" I told him i clean it weekly or after every time the kids get in it. in the 5 months Ive had the car I've had to scrape food off the floor (dried nuggets, fries, gummies, etc), 2 good gouges in the door and a few hairline scratches on the trunk (gem green is VERY fragile, had it on an explorer once before). I've avoided any dents by parking FAR away from my wife's car but they about ripped the spoiler off a few days ago fighting over who gets to open the trunk............kids

I take my kids (girls) to school every morning and it's sad how little they care about cars. I find trash on the regular or random girl things (brushes, clothes, lip gloss, etc). They haven't stained anything yet, but there's still time for that. What burns me the most are the floor mats. They'll push them in every crazy direction and will never fix them, so the drivers mat is the only one that doesn't curl on the sides. I think I may upgrade soon to something more rugged than the OEM ones.

They're now both almost teenagers but when they were younger, it was never ending with the door dings. My oldest slammed my old Mustang door into a beam on a metal carport (and I had parked far enough away that it wasn't hard to get out safely). We now have a 2 - 3 car garage. My wife and I use the section with a double door. She parks on the side closest to the wall and I park in the middle. I do a little maneuver backing in so that I'm further towards the 3rd parking space and my front bumper is between both garage doors (we use the 3rd space for a golf cart so there's room). There's plenty of room for her to open the doors on either side of her SUV. But sometimes she parks too close to me and if the girls don't pay attention....BAM. I've had a couple dings removed and now have a couple more. They've all been on the passenger side.

my back seat is the same, i think i caught most stains in time but hard to tell with black carpet, but every pocket is full of lip gloss hair ties fidget toys, door pockets full of trash (2 girls, 1 boy, boy sits in the middle) the same week i bought my car I went to the junkyard and snagged a console lid and found some heavy rubber OEM taurus floormats and stashed my SHO mats, that choice has probably saved the interior from so many careless accidents. they have destroyed so many interiors over the last 10 years except my old crown vic that had vinyl floors and rear seat. my son actually popped the trunk on my wifes car during a hurricane that came by in 2020. we didnt notice the trunk was open for 3 days because we didn't go anywhere. flooded the car and between the smells of the car, the water, and the stray cats that used the open trunk, it was bad, so i had to replace carpet and seats. but anyway yeah, kids are awesome but will test the durability of everything you love and your sanity. highly recommend the floormats, heavy but soft and say "taurus"

Are the floor mats different for the red headed step child (2010 - 2012) SHO's? This is a little unclear to me. My car was built after 2009 but is not a 2013+.

I credit my losing 10 pounds to careless parkers and me avoiding them. The long walk from parking in the back row at Target pays off.

added the all important vent visors, opted for outside of window channel after a mishap with the in channel ones on my wifes car, not loving the look definitely function over form, the rear right is already trying to pop off because I put them higher than I was supposed to trying to cover as much chrome as I could so they didnt look so out of place. now i'm wondering what the terminal velocity will be before one flies off. anyone use the in channel ones? any issues rolling the windows up? aesthetically I think the in channel ones look better and if these ones fly off Ill probably just switch if there are enough positive experiences with them

I had the in-channel ones on an S-10 about 20 years ago. I had 2 different sets of AVS Ventshade. Both of them I had the window down on the freeway and the visor blew off the truck. Never gone back since.

I bought AVS but didnt think of using vinyl to cover up the chrome, considered plastic dip but figured it'd be a pain. I have a bunch of vinyl I can at least black out the upper chrome trim. I've had nothing but good luck with avs outside of channel, had a set on my f150 ladt 10 years before they broke and the tape still didnt give up, but how these are fitting I'm getting worried they may lift, I think I'll pick up some 3m and readhere as needed. Thanks for the advice!
