Yeah I work on my own car all the time im usually the only person I trust to work on my car, they are the same tires, they still have all my paint markings inside the treads all the way around they are pretty bad, took a look last nightIf you haven't already, buy a cheap tire gauge and check the depth yourself. Even with improper wear, surely you'd get more than 3K miles.
I have a pretty good mechanic locally that I trust. Been using him since I was 16. Of everyone I've dealt with, I feel like he's the most honest. I still like to do my own maintenance. That way I'm not being overcharged for labor and I know I'm getting what I paid for.
This week has been a maintenance week for the 'ol truck. Oil/filter, coolant, transmission fluid/filter, spark plugs, air filter clean/recharge, and even replaced the ATF for the power steering. I'll still let my mechanic rotate my tires. I need to invest in a good torque wrench. I don't trust the cheap HF one I have.
