Decided to do a little work on the SHO today, so I started the install of my quad tips. Got the initial cuts done and the tips mounted, but found the isolators are worn out and cause the mufflers to sag with the added weight.

Plan to replace those then trim it out some more to pull them up into the valence, shooting for the GT500 looks.

Thoughts? This is with stock mufflers, so I have limited geometry to work with.

I really like it Lee! Did you just free hand the cut?

Me personally......

I think quad tips are overkill.

Just looks awkward for my liking. But hey, I'm a nobody in the grand scheme of things....

Who am I?

They aren't for everyone. I've loved the look ever since the 13 GT500.

Funny thing though, I installed them while the wife was at lunch with a friend, then she picked the kids up from school and parked outside since I was on the ladder. She asked when I had time to install them then gets my daughter out of the car and she, a 2 year old, immediately bends down and goes "what are thooose?!"

LOL stumbled across this memory on Facebook. Thought it was funny enough to share. Been taking junk out cars for the better part of a decade to be quicker now..

Wife had to do errands today and I was left with baby duty and so every time I put him down for a nap I got to work wrapping a few things on my car. I also did an oil change and transmission change this morning before she left for errands. After she left work began during his naps.

(1st nap) I started with the black plastic on the door pull handles.

(2nd nap) I had to make sure everyone knows that my radar detector belongs to my car lol.

(Wife relieved me from duty) I pulled off the door sills and took them apart and wrapped them with carbon fiber and when my wife finally came home I had her to cut out the word Taurus on her cricut and put that on top and I think it came out pretty good, not perfect but not bad.

Your poor wife......

You better be the one getting onto your knees, and servicing..... oops, I meant to say repaying her accordingly.

I have some stickers coming in the mail, different character... plan to platidip the Ford emblems and add the stickers.

My inner child has been talking to me, this weekend he made me do this:

You ever drive your car daily for so long that you forget that it's fast. And then you get in another car and you're like WTF, let's go.

Well yesterday I had the whole family in the car and went to pass someone doing 40 in a 55. Naturally, I romped down, chirped the front tires until AWD kicked in and blew by them. The whole family freaks like I just did something crazy. I love it!

Stickers arrived yesterday so I spent the night finalizing the project. Its all plasti dip so I have the chance to remove it if my inner child points me in another direction.

Predator, nice! How well did the stickers stick to the plastidip?

Sent from my SM-G986U using Tapatalk
Pretty good. I used a heat gun to soften the glue. The sticker background paper kind of stuck to the plasti dip so I had to be very careful to pull it without damaging it.

Been thinking of ordering a small custom made "PREDATOR" sticker for the back but I can already imagine people pulling their kids away from me when I park or give me the look at red lights.

Have you thought about just doing a larger Predator emblem that you could put on the back window or sunshade?

Not a fan of huge window stickers. This is my daily driver and I try to keep a "low profile".
Last time I went to the track I forgot to remove the number they put on your window and the next day at work everyone was talking about it... did you know "jman1200" drag raced?...

This is what I have in mind, about 9 inches long, under the SHO badge.
