Man, I usually flash down to my 3 BAR 87 tune when snow hits.

Yeah, I have noticed people doing that, I was just wondering why.

Easier? Don't want to stand out in the cold to fill from two pumps? Personal preference? Don't want too much power on the snow? Reliability issues? Not racing in the winter?

Inquiring minds want to know. :)

So far I've left the e30 tune, just because the car really digs this cold dense air and I like how it pulls, plus it really doesn't add much time for me to do the mix.

I was just wondering what the other opinions were on it.

See for me I prefer to flash the car as little as possible. That's just another avenue for failure that I don't need.

Plus here in Nebraska snow isnt an issue a whole lot. When it happens its usually only on the road for a day or two. Now the mixing does suck since I gotta go to two gas stations, but I'm used to it.

I've done the math and I save around $400 switching to 87 during Winter. When there is snow and ice I am just not going to floor it, don't want to end up in the ditch nor want to excessively wear my Winter tires which are made of a much softer rubber, I won't go broke over $400 but why have the extra hp available if I am not going to use it? at least not the way I do in the other 3 seasons... I've said it before, rather spend that money in beer.

Honestly, there was a single clip of the launch that wasn't saved on snap chat and she launched honestly hard enough that it probably would had sent me into the 10s if I was able to replicate that at the strip. The stop distance was not significant enough for that launch...

I have to go a little out of my way (30 min round trip) to get 93, so I usually drop to my 91 tune in the winter because it’s available on every corner.

I swap fuels during colder months because it's harder to start and I hate hearing it crank for 30seconds when it's 15degrees out

I was wondering about this when it gets to -40, but from what I've heard it's more of a problem with anything higher than about e50ish, since you're running e85 I can see that being an issue.

Anyone have issues starting when running e30-40ish?

I did notice, albeit slight, a tad longer crank on e30 in the high 20’s.
