Holy moly that's a long time! Is there any difference in the software, or is this just a map upgrade?
Indeed! It is a LLLLLLLONNNNGGGG time.

This is the 1st time I can recall in several years, whereas a software update has been offered in conjunction with a navigation update.

I can't answer your question, because I haven't taken it out yet to ascertain any differences that lie within.

I've relegated my SHO down from daily driven duties months ago, to strictly car shows, track play days, and the occasional spirited romp around town for pleasure.

I'll be sure to be looking out for those changes though when I do take her out!

wow, those 2000 watt generators are tiny now!
Agreed!

This thing is so damn cool.

It shows remaining fuel level. Remaining run time. It also displays power output usage.

It has three modes of: "Economy", "Standard", and "Turbo" to provide varying levels of power output.

On Eco mode, and a full tank of gas, I logged 13hr run time max thus far. Crazy I tell 'ya.

You can also purchase a second matching unit and run them in parrallel if need be, for twice the power.

So when not using the generator for the SHO, I certainly can make use of it in those rare events we may lose power at the house due to storms, etc.

So I thought it was/is a win/win from any perspective.

Finally had some nice cool weather in Mi...so I got to clay bar, wax, and seal this big girl. Also had a chance to dip the wheels and throw some color on my calipers last week. 316b55dc6968fa2f2dd3af47c0537cb2

Maybe not necessarily today, or even what I've done "TO" my SHO in the proper sense.....

However, given the amount of outdoor venues I've been showing the black/white 2010 SHO at, and none of them really offering electric hookups, I opted to purchase a handy 2000 watt power inverter generator recently FOR my SHO.

This thing fits the bill in so many ways. Compact. Portable. Relatively light weight for a generator. Loaded with all sorts of tech and info friendly features. I've been elated with it's performance thus far.

Always fun keeping the spectators entertained with the audio blasting away, video, and then all the LED lights to boot at these events.

Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ Arrived today from tire rack. Ordered, shipped and arrived on station in about 22 hours about three days early not counting weekend.

Will probably take to Costco tomorrow and drop off for install. Plan is to drop off with the F1's and rims...Have them mount and balance. Basically say call me when
they are done and I will bring the Taurus over for installation.

You're coming from the OEM F1s? Please post up once you have a chance to compare. The A/S3+ is what I am leaning towards the SHO is now my daily and will see bad weather and I'm concerned how bad of a tradeoff it will be.

Replaced the PCV valve on the firewall valve cover. 70k mile PCV valve. Sludge present on the base of the valve. It was still moving but I'm quite sure the replacement will function much better. Not sure what the service interval is on these but I'm glad I replaced it. $8 from the local dealer. Pull up and twist counter clockwise to remove. Simple and easy.

Yes coming of the Eagle F1. Yes OEM Eagle F1 but not from my SHO. I used the Eagle F1's from a fellow former here who had the P/P in Oregon. I just had to pay shipping. His were replaced with Continental DWS but fairly recently the DWS were replaced due to FOD DAMAGE.....Contractor dropped box of nails in airport parking garage and contractor offered to replace. Pilots were the only available set of four at that time but he seems to have favorable reviews. OEMs normal were Primacy MXM4 so still Michelin's. The Pilot sport A/S 3+ seems to offer a good balance of traction, wet, high performance, durability, quiet, all season and touring ride. Reviews say a bit noisy until broken in but that seems to be the case with all new tires. I got about 26K off the Eagle F1 including two round trips from DFW-Carlisle (summer) and year round DFW use. If I didn't get the Volvo to help reduce the mileage they would have gone out probably about three months ago. Average reviews seem to indicate around 20K service life for Eagle F1 and the lowest I read was 16K but that same vehicle shows 41K on the Pilot Sports.

I had Eagle F1s on my Jetta... grippy bastards but their wear is incredibly poor... 20K was the most I ever got out of them... went through 2 sets... both lasted the same amount of time. Cupping and wear were the issues.

My buddy has the Pilots on his impala and loves them.

Dropped off today for buildup mount/balance. Told them no rush wouldn't be back until tomorrow anyway...Called about an hour later....Done. I will still return tomorrow with Taurus. Easy drop off...they helped unload just paid the $60 for install. I cleaned up the rim spacers and cleaned up the rims before I dropped them off. Highly recommended to clean inside of rims especially while wheels are off. Gives a chance to not only look good but also check for corrosion, possible stress fractures of the rim etc...

Let us know what you think over the F1s.

So far so good. I did get a TPMS Sensor Fault AND Monitor Fault. Returned to Costco the next day reset TPMS computer again and after almost 100 miles no return warnings. Tires are quiet, and grip like Velcro. I am purposely using Taurus for a few hundred miles to get the tires broken in. Feels weird coming back to the Ford after the Volvo for all these months but after a day or two I am back in the saddle. The only major thing I am missing is the Taurus Sirius/XM doesn't have an option to set Channel 301 (Road Trip radio) so slumming back on the "80s on 8" I will post a follow up in a few weeks when they get broken in.

  • Yes they do make high quality product that's for sure, and very reasonable pricing, I'll have to double check but I don't think it was more than $80.00 for eveverything. And shipping was pretty quick even coming into canada.
