Went and changed the RDU fluid today. All I have left now is the transmission and coolant and all the fluids will officially have been changed since I bought the car.

Good stuff. Just chiming in here, but for maintenance, is there anything else I should be doing at 30k mileage other than coolant change, tranny fluid change, PTU fluid change and RDU fluid change? Want to stay ahead of the game as much as i can.

Those are the big ones, coolant, transmission (technically 3 - 5 qt changes, which I agree if you dont do yourself might want to schedule another sooner.) RDU/PTU, and oil.

Pretty certain my Valve Body is on its way out if not already there. Requested a quote on having it replaced and waiting to hear back. Still waiting on my downpipes and intake. Installed a corsa catback and a little dissapointed in the low-mid range sound, but everywhere else sounds great. Especially for an EB. Any tips for replacing the valve body? Really wanted to wait until we heard more about the new clutches from Helix Autosport, but shifting is getting progressively worse and don't want to risk hurting the transmission much more. Any ideas how much I should be looking at for getting it replaced? I know the Valve body runs for 300-ish plus a core charge, but curious to labor prices. I thought about doing it myself, but not too confident in my mechanical skills and really don't want to hurt the trans any more than it has been.

Labor rate is 3 hours. Most shops are $100-150/hr. Add 10% for shop fees. Most are going to want to do a flush to make sure it is good clean fluid for warranty on the part. I'm going to guess they will also want to replace the filter and the main control cover gasket. So add the cost of the fluid and those parts.

Sucks because I did a "flush" just last week. Oh well. Thanks for the info though, glad to hear it won't be too bad on the wallet.

Saw on SM105K's post where he cut out the lower air deflector and decided to try it. Then I remembered that I live in Louisiana, next to the swamp and figured I had better do something to deflect any water that may enter the vent. So I built a hinged door using some scrap aluminum and a stainless steel piano hinge. I''m looking for either a reasonably priced stepper motor or a linear actuator to control the door. I used an old lower deflector panel that I had so that I could see if it would actually work. If I can't find anything to operate the door, I may just attach a cable to it.

I live for this stuff, door lock actuator or a vacuum actuator from an HVAC box would work too and be lighter but would require more parts to make functional on demand. old ford trucks have about half an inch of travel on their door lock actuators, maybe more, placed close to the hinge should flap the door open and closed no problem. 2 wire simple operation, grab a 2 way switch and a relay if you desire and hook it up! heres the amazon link, they're like $15 brand new

If you have the room i'd mount it as high and dry as you can or even make a little housing to try and keep water out, they live in doors without the best weather seals so they can take some water but they also fail after some time so the less water the better. Its a momentary run so heat wouldnt be a big issue if you just wrapped it up good. hope this helps!

Gave the car a good wash over the weekend with the new foam cannon. I'm never going back. Detail cleaned and spray waxed it.

I've been considering replacing the suspension lately. I feel like my car doesn't ride as smooth as it once did/should. I can feel all the bumps in the road and if I were to hit something uneven at slow speeds, say I'm slow rolling over a dip on one of the front tires, I get this weird springing noise.

That said, I'm no suspension expert. This is something I'd likely pay someone else to do. So far I've found the Godspeed MSS0142-A coilovers "lowering" kit for $675 ('12 SHO Non-PP). I don't necessarily want to lower it, but if it ended up just slightly lower than stock that'd be OK. Anyone use this kit and can provide feedback? Is that all I'd need to buy or am I missing something? Something better available as I'm looking for ride comfort and handling with a mostly stock ride height?

Last weekend did an oil/filter change, tire rotation front to back. Then today at start up. . . click, click, click, click. 4 year old battery has bit the dust. Jumped it and drove to local auto parts store. Purchased new battery.

I setup a google reminder for replacing every three years regardless, if you have a Costco 48 mo Interstate batteries rip replace get a small credit and done. They don't even do a test nothing.

Installed the TonyD torque links today. they literally fell into place and torqued to 70 ftlbs. One thing I noticed at start up, the engine sounded like it picked up about 50HP. Actually it's just vibration being transmitted through the torque links.

They will break in after some time. I also raised my idle 200 rpm up and that helps as well. They have been on my car since July of 2019. I just recently greased them up. To be honest, I don't notice them at all anymore. MY GF drives the SHO 95% of the time now, and she has never said anything either. Still launches amazing.

Drove it to work! After being down for awhile while the turbos were being rebuilt/upgraded and then I decided 120K was a good time to do timing chain and water pump, the car has been down for quite awhile. I am looking forward to getting data logs and retuned!

Good call on the water pump. Mine started weeping around 97K miles. While it was being replaced, I had a new timing chain installed as well.

Changed out the thermostat, car refused to warm up and maintain above 140°, since it's a commuter first and a toy second just went with a 180° since I couldn't find a 170° under $60. Also added a generic catch can I've been urged to do, fabbed up a quick bracket and got some decent hose, the bare aluminum finish was cheaper. Topped the day off with a couple vinyls (the emblem looks better from a distance, might just scrap that one lol)20231014 17395620231014 17394120231014 173938
