So I traded the SHO tonight. Was starting to get very aggravated. The spoiler is still on order and they didn't want to keep paying for the rental so I picked the car up "wingless" with duct tape covering the holes where the "wing" used to be. Still gonna be another week or so before the new part arrives then it still has to be painted and assembled. They finally fixed the door handle in the back (for the 2nd time) which was nice. I had been noticing some of the trim and other pieces after 7 months was not holding up well at all, so as I poked around a bit more the Taurus fender insert on one side was very loose and kinda rattling and the bottom trim around the windows is all discolored and I can't polish it out. So great back for more dealer trips, more pictures, more waiting for Ford approval then more down time and probably more Focus time. Then when I washed it today I noticed that same problem many here have had with the tail lights. Aweful pealing of the chrome badly around both lights, freakin great, more pictures, more downtime and more Focus time.

At that point I said screw it and went to see my buddy at Brandon Ford, traded it in and picked up the new 5.0 Mustang. :dribble: OMG this thing is freakin SICK! Now of course i'm used to pampered luxury in the SHO so I made sure to get all the toys. Nav, heated seats, Shaker 500, Glass Roof, Brembo's (the SHO should get those stock!), 3.73 gear, 19's, 6spd, etc. This thing rides the **** out! overall the ride is fantastic compared to my old Stangs (I've had 5) nearly as quiet as the SHO and very comfy, actually I have more leg room in the Stang for some reason. The Halo and My Color dash is wicked cool as well.

I'll get some better pics up soon but here it is at the dealer, and for those wondering trade in value sucks ($30k). Luckily I get A Plan and got thousands off the SHO purchase so same for the Stang to like $8k off so it was pretty much an even swap, payments the same.

Can't blame you for jumping ship.
Also love the new Mustangs, tho 2 doors and sitting lower wont suit my back any more.
Enjoy the new ride; you're bound to have better luck with it.

I whipped one just like yours a month ago at Bradenton.!!!!!!:munch:

In fairness to him, he got a bad reaction time and then had traction issues, so had a 3 length lead:sun: before he started gaining. Beat him by a length.:dribble:

Track must have been slick, as I only got one under 2.0 60 ft that day, but admittedly this was one of my fastest runs.

13.5 something at 102.:thankyou:

If I were in the market for a new toy*... (*2-dr sports car)
a yellow 5.0 Stang would be my #1choice over Shelby or a Vette. But... Black 5.0 would be my #2.

Too bad about all your issues with the SHO. Haven't had any of this with the Brick, or with my G8's. But... also don't have brake issues, or all the suspension issues many G8 owners (including my son) have had with their GT's.
Lucky... I guess. Just hope it keeps up.

Very nice! Congarts on the purchase! Ford did an excellent job with the 5.0. With small mods, these cars easily go way into the 11's. We have a 5.0L shop car as well. The different rounds of mods and ET improvements can be found here I won the MM&FF Magazine N/A class shootout with it and plan on racing it in FL at the NMRA season opener in March.

We can tune that for ya too :)

Congrats on the 5.0! I have one coming in the spring but I'm not getting rid of the SHO.

I looked hard at these when they did the buyback of my car. Its hella fast but ultimately, I liked the comfort of the SHO, as well as the entry/exit easiness over the Mustang.

Nice looking car.

The one I looked at was a 401A with Brembos and 3.73s.

It's difficult to beat the exhaust note of a V8 Mustang!

-Rod

Ain't it! Had 3 V8s before my SHO. I miss that sound. Then I heard a SHO with a exhaust, I think I want to leave my exhaust alone. Hard not having that v8 rumble

If I still lived in Fl. I would still be driving a Mustang. But they just don't drive to well in the snow. That being said, sweet ride. Where are you at in the Brandon area? I used to live in Valrico.

I solved the "Noise Fluff" dilemma. Recorded my 502 boat engine with headers, and pipe it to underside rear speakers! Really helps the "WHAT THE **** IS THAT ANYWAY" quotient!:woo-hoo::laugh_ti::laugh_ti::laugh_ti:

Ha! If you see the movie "The Dilemna" with Vince Vaughn and Kevin James...they do this to "electric Dodge Chargers" for Chrysler and sync it to the throttle position......

Tried to transplant 502 for 231, but water cooled headers wouldn't fit in sideways!

Next summer I am going to just mount it in behind the middle seats and link it up to rear wheels! :dribble: Then I'll be able to smoke the 5.0 w/o a jump start!:woo-hoo:

Issuing these irrelevant posts because I'm jealous....:thankyou:
