I'm buying me a 1990 Taurus SHO. It has a ported and polished intake, Cold air intake and a cat less y-pipe with a custom dynomax exhaust. The car has been sitting for about 6 to 8 months and when you crank it up it has a great idle. It will only run for about 15 secs and it dies. You can let it set for a little bit and it will crank right back up and do the same thing. Does anybody know what this could be? I fixen so I can start playing with it.
Thanks

If there ain't no codes, next step would be to check the fuel pressure....the fuel pump could be shot, or the fuel filter clogged up. Does the car stay running if you squeeze the gas pedal? If so, that could be the IAB (idle air bypass valve)...which is the lil weird looking thing on the intake behind the throttle body. another thing to consider if you can't pull any codes off the thing is the CKP (crank position sensor). I can't say for certain i've ever heard of a car actually starting with a bad crank sensor....but that's not to say it's not possible.
