Hi,
On my way home my temp gauge jumped up to O-R range, never did this before, usually runs around the A-L range anybody know what this could be? I just started commuting 100 miles round trip to work.
It's a 95 ATX 105,000 miles, runs great, just never seen the gauge that high before.
Ran EATC test and got 888 passed all tests.

Im assuming you meant that your usually around o-r and it jumped to a-l. Is your cooling fan coming on?

No, actually N is Hot, L is Cold. 95 ATX?
My fan comes on when i put the climate control on, not sure when the climate control is off, i'm testing it as we speak. I'm idling the car without the climate control on, waiting to see if the fans kicks on.
Thanks.

Hi,
I just heard a click, but no fan came on. What would cause that? Fan functions with the climate control on, not when it's off.
Thanks.

Run the EEC self test, there are links to sites with instructions in my signature. Before it starts spitting out codes, it will test both the low and high speed fan settings.

Let us know how they test out.

Sorry, I did run the test and it came back 888 passed everything.
Thanks.

Wrong test. You ran the EATC test, not the EEC test.

See the link in the above post.

I just remembered i added some HP octane booster with MMT, could that cause the engine to run hotter? Shot in the dark?
Thanks.

Hmm, if it ran both the low and high fans during the KOEO, sounds like a bad ECT at that point. saying a relay clicked threw me off a bit, but if the high speed fan is coming on when the EEC self test is run, the ECT (Engine Coolant temp Sensor) is at fault. $16.99 from Advance Auto Parts.

Weird stuff, After driving 56 miles to work, car ran great, cool temp, sitting in the parking lot, i let the car idle and as soon as it hit the M on the gauge the fan kicked in. Let the fan kick in 3 more times. Can't explain this issue.

Probably an intermittent connection or component.

If so, it will probably be back, most likely at a very inconvenient time.

My suggestion is to disconnect the battery, then unplug and replug the CCRM/IRCM connector several times. Reconect the battery and then keep an eye on everything.
