Everyone seems to forget that Ford isn't exactly able to do EXACTLY what they want with their models. This is just an iteration of what's to come. The current vehicle is worth every cent, but I can foresee a massive structural shift in the future. Think about it, this chassis is from 2005. It has yet to have a major revision. The Taurus platform is a MASSIVE leap from the fusion, physically. This chassis can be used for a Crown Vic name badge and a lightened and tightened Taurus platform can emerge.
Either way you look at it, I know Ford is patting itself on it's own back and getting very excited with what defies being a 4300# vehicle. Even weighing in at 3800 would be a sensational improvement. The trans is a milestone for Ford, but they werent at their full financial potential to push their price tag up anymore. Compromise. Due to it being a Taurus and the cost already being so shocking to people.
Then again, would it hurt to have a $55k SHO Plus?!

If it lays down rubber from all 4s, has envious brakes on it, a fully manual automatic, a lightened carbon body and a little less on the inside (unless you opt for it.. then pay the premium!).. Offer it in the ORIGINAL Plus colors..
I wouldn't buy it, but I'd definitely make friends with someone who has one...
Is my post technically off-topic of this thread?!
