Hey guys, I have a 70k mile 2010 Ford Taurus SHO that I got used a year ago. I used to have a 2007 kia optima for 10 years straight and was so used to its smaller dimension sizes to easily park with. I am still honestly getting used to the bigger sedan size and am nervous parking next to cars so I avoid parking in-between cars if I can. I know this can't go on forever, so I am planning on making a change with instead of forward parking I will start backing into spots. It beeps when it backs up but the taurus I got does not come with the backup camera. Is it possible to install the oem part that is listed on amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Backup-Limited-2010-2012-AG1Z-19G490-D-AG1Z19G490D/dp/B0CMZM4BRJ

If not, does anybody recommend any third party backup cameras that is fairly cheap 100-200 dollars and fits well for the SHO I've got? Thank you!!!

Does your 2010 already have the larger full-color navigation display in the instrument cluster or the smaller dot matrix screen? If the smaller screen, then you're going to want to look at aftermarket solutions for your backup camera.

not looking at the program right now - sounds like something Forscan could assist with, however I would hookup Forscan with a windows laptop first. I dont know since there was some changes between 10-13 vs 14+. Was the camera an option for your year?

Possibly under SYNC3 APIM setting

From youtube videos i've seen the 2010 has the option for it too have it, but mine does not I believe. Unless I am missing the obvious camera or a setting somewhere to activate it. I was hoping I could just plug and play but I doubt it with the older model

Many times they don't just turn on by design, however in our case sometimes using a program like Forscan we can tell the computer it's there and it will come alive. Keep digging.

Out there somewhere
The camera mounts in the center of the trim piece on the trunk. Cars with and without the camera use different trim pieces.

Also consider that the wiring may or may not be there. Probably not.

Since you have the larger screen already, like Texas Marauder describes, see if your Taurus already has the rear backup camera. If so, this should be a pretty simple update for you.
