I've had my 2013 SHO for about 1 1/2 years. At first, the backup camera was a little flakey, but worked for the most part. Fast forward to now, and all I see is "Backup camera unavailable. See your dealer". Once in a great while it will come on, but doesn't respond to steering wheel input by moving the guide lines. Sometimes when in reverse, the display doesn't even change. Other times, it takes up to 30 seconds to go back to the normal display screen.
This car has so many stinking modules and "bells & whistles". I'm more of old school when it comes to diagnostics and troubleshooting. Any input would be appreciated.

Order a new camera on Amazon and swap it out. It's very easy to do.

same thing happened to me, 9.9/10 times its the camera itself, there is a little debate about going non-oem, high price point or low price point. oem cameras are becoming a little hard to find but if you want to keep your moving parking lines (guide lines that move when you move the wheel) and the automatic parallel parking feature (if equipped) then you will want to find and buy the ford camera. I was finding them from $200-$400 depending on which dealer had it in new old stock. but the $50 amazon lets me see behind me, no moving guide lines , no object alert, no parking assist, but it comes on every time. Camera thats the link to the one I have, 6 months strong no issues. tried to recalibrate it in forscan and it said it wasnt OEM so it couldnt calibrate it. but its cheaper than Dorman and I was told to stay away from the Dorman camera.

The aftermarket one I installed still has the lines and parallel parking. I just had to go into the settings and turn them off and then back on. I think I paid something like $60 for it.

I just replaced mine on my 2013 with an Amazon. The backup sensors work just no lines that turn when I turn the wheel. I have yet to try the park assist feature.

Do you recall which aftermarket one it is? Ebay has hundreds that will fit. I don't want to pay OEM price, but I don't want an El-cheapo either.

I should've clarified my parking sensors and side impact alert still works (beep beep beep beeeeeeeeeep), the oem cam had it where it would highlight an area on the screen as a potential obstruction if I remember correctly and my current cam does not. The camera I bought also said the moving lines would still work on the ad, alleged fully functional as oem, clarity is lower and features are missing but I didn't want to go through the trial and error hassle and stuck with it.
