I moved to Canada and with the tarrifs getting parts up here is super expensive. I'll try a PCM and if that doesn't work I'll have more of a look at the wiring.

I added more grounds from the negative battery terminal to all over the body hoping that would help. But even still I have next to no resistance from pins 20, 40 and 60.

My check engine light doesn't light up anymore either. And sometimes my PCM makes buzzing and squeaking noises. So I think that is a good thing to check.

The car went from working most of the time to working not at all now. So I'm really hoping that a PCM will fix it.

The Canadian government put a lien on my car too so I can't even get rid of it.

Worst birthday ever :(

Thanks guys.

a government lien, that's interesting. how does that work???
just curious, and want to be able to recognize it if ever pops up in something here.

I was a Pennsylvania resident for many years. I've owned the car when I moved to Canada. Because I was able to prove I owned the car for several years, I was able to import it up to Canada tax free. The downside of this is that they put a lien on the car. The thinking behind this is they don't want people importing a bunch of vehicles saying that they own them and then selling them tax free.

That is how it was explained to me anyway. If you have any other questions about it or if my explanation sucks feel free to ask!

Mental note to self, do not try to sell car while visiting Canada.

makes sense about the taxes, sort of.

Yeah it was kind of a pain in the ass just to get it up here. I had to go through a broker which was only like 50 bucks. The process would have been a lot more complicated if I was selling the car though. The paperwork is confusing and that's the kind of thing I like to leave to the professionals. :)

I replaced the capacitors in my PCM and it was still dead. I'm sure it could be repaired, but a used replacement is usually more economical.
