One reason you wouldn't likely be able to buy a SHO with VTA from a dealer is the Fed drive-by noise standards. Just like intake noise, the Fed regulates this and hence the need for baffles and silencing devices on stock intake tracts. I like to hear the turbo in my car too, but it's a bit "ricey" for some.

Is there any benefit to aftermarket BOV units on these cars BTW? Not sure if the OEM ones can leak over time etc.

I agree....this is a very easy and free mod. I ended up putting my rear side back to stock because I found it a bit too loud. But yeah well worth 20 minutes of time.

The sound is when you lift off the gas after the revs have built up. If you aren't hearing it then you capped the wrong part.

In order to get the back hose off I just removed the rear bov from the intercooler tube took off and it was really easy after that

@EcoPowerParts The sound your blow off was making in the first video you posted is exactly what mine sound like earlier today but, I have the factory bov's on there still?

This made me really nervous because it has only been a day since I added gapped spark plugs, CAI, 3 bar MAP, tstat, catless dp's, rear muffler delete, and an LMS 93+ tune.

I'm thinking now probably no need to worry but, the car has 100k on it so I'm watching closely for wear on all these old parts. 2010 Lincoln MKS Ecobeast. It was that kind of dull almost flutter like sound. I'm new to modding, turbos, and eco boost so I'm easily scared.

When I tuned my 2011 SHO it made a noise other than VTA bov. LMS said it was my waste gate. I'm running stage 4x+. Only made noise when letting off throttle under higher boost.

The MKS does not have a noisemaker from the factory like the SHO does. So either someone put one on, or they did a VTA mod, or both. Time to see what's under the cover!

When test driving the new SHO, my wife gave me one **** of a strange look when I started talking to the car asking it why it wasn't making turbo sounds, lol. So naturally when I saw this thread earlier I immediately ran to Ace, came back, and got this done.

FYI a small pair of long nose vice grips made getting the back hose off fairly easy; just enough room to get the BOV clamp from above, approaching it from the passenger side.

Just a quick tip on this old thread. You can fit a pair of medium sized channel locks upside down under the bov to get the clip off. Managed to get it pretty quick that way. One hand squeezing the channel locks and the other pulling the tube off.

Anyone notice a double blow off under partial throttle?

I have double blow off at low rpm/load conditions. I've been meaning to ask if this is normal. The tone is different for each blow off. Sounds like a coo-coo clock. Several times in quick succession and it starts to sound like a circus wagon. Makes me laugh when in parking lots drawing attention. At high demand driving I only notice one short quick squeek/chirp.

Sounds similar to mine. I'm assuming it is because the bov is electronic so it must be looking part at throttle position? Just a guess, I'm not exactly sure.

Yes they are looking at throttle position relitive to manifold intake pressure. Still doesn't explain to me why they release at different times. I would like to know if I have a problem or if this is normal. Anyone else have this happening?
