I just converted my factory BoV to FTA on my Flex today.
What does this do for you?
Nothing but making a PFFFFT noise when you lift the throttle under boost.
Is there any downsides to this?
No, the car is speed desnsity so releasing the air from the turbos to atmosphere when the blow off valves open does not negatively impact the tune, factory or modified. There is no MAF in the ecoboost motors, only dual MAP.

BTW, I couldn't find 1" vacuum "*******" to block off the factory tubing so I went to Home Depot and searched around, found some 1" rubber chair leg "tips" to use, worked pretty good so far.

Another shot of the factory Blow off Valve with the return tube removed - vent to atmosphere

Close up of rear portion of intake tubing with blow off valve return hose removed and blocked off. For me easiest way to get to this area and remove tubing was to remove the intake tubing and rotate to access the clamp that held the tubing onto the blow off valve.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if the charge that's being vented is after the MAF, isn't that going to throw off the metering, in so much that the engine has less air mass available than the ECU thinks it does?

Interesting stuff. You've been coming up with a lot unique ideas as of late.

Kudos.

Where was the PCV vented to previously?

Some of us eliminated the oil blow by line from front valve cover into the front turbo air inlet. Couldn't believe how much oil has collected in the little filter added to the valve cover. All that oil was going into the turbos, intercooler, and eventually the engine. Back side has a catch-can device, so why not the front?

I'm going to do a catch can on the front PCV valve this week too. :)

Since there is no pressure build up on your recirculation side hole plug it should be good as long as it can hold up the temperature of the engine bay. Thanks for the virtually free mod. Can't wait to see the piping PPE comes up with.

Just completed mine. Found some 1" vinyl caps at ACE that did the trick.

I was able to test this out tonight and its pretty loud when you run WOT manually shifting. I can't imagine it being much louder. The real concern as you mentioned is actually how much boost can they actually hold.

I did mine with the mini cone filters from autozone. Now I get a wiff of oil smell every now and then when driving since I vented the PCV to the atmosphere.
