According to the Ford marketing guy that was here yesterday, the Tauruses have started production, but not the SHO yet.

I believe the SHO has been produced but not released yet. I talked to the Jeff, the guy who is in charge of its production, at our SHO get together, along with Chrissy Rodriguez, and they mentioned it had started production@ 6-15-2009. Only reason I remember so well is that Jeff was kidding about that since he wasn't at the plant, he wasn't able to make sure they left out of there in tip top shape. We all got a kick out of that, but of course he was kidding. He said the guy who was there was while he was away was totally capable of watching them and making sure there were no issues.

Drove one for a while a week ago. Managed to convince the dealer to let a 20 year old kid drive a brand new SHO.

Drives smooth as butter, but you can feel the weight of it. I obviously wasn't allowed to throw it around corners, but it just did not feel like it was on rails. I guess I had high expectations.

As for performance, I wasn't too impressed. I expected a little more, but damn those things are heavy and it really shows. I wish I could hear the engine more too, and I kind of miss the sound of secondaries.

All in all, I wasn't too impressed with it. Looks great and it is a nice luxury car, but not a SHO in my definition...its just too refined.

How did you drive it at the Dealer if they are not even there yet? Are you sure you were in a SHO? Yes they are heavy, but your the first person I've seen who said "The weight really shows". Many of us who drove the cars and even the magazines agree that the car does a good job at hiding how heavy it really is.
