secondaries?... something else?

so earlier this summer I had my Fuel Pump, Valve cover gaskets, spark-plug well gaskets, plug-wires replaced.... but ever since then my car just doesn't quite have the same performance as before.

Is it possible that when they put the air intake back on, that something wasn't done right?...
Secondaries are DEFINITELY opening at 4000rpm (can hear it), but is it possible that only 1 bank of them are opening? or are they all run from the same vaccuum thingy?

It's not like the car is totally anemic or anything...just not 'quite right'.

p.s. I never changed the plugs at that time because they were brand new, however i'll be changing them tomorrow.

Even if the plugs were brand new, if there was oil in the plug wells they very well could have arced a trace up the insulator causing your problems or otherwise fouled. Let us know if the spark plug change helps.

If the vacuum line was not hooked up to the solenoid, neither secondary diaphragm valve would close. They are hooked together at a "T" and the valves use vacuum to close the secondary butterflies.

Try resetting the EEC to have it relearn the engine parameters. Another possibility is that the O2 sensors should be changed at the same intervals as the spark plugs - 60,000 miles.

Its real easy to check the secondaries, they open when the engine is turned off. They are spring loaded to be open all the time, when the engine starts vacuum closes them almost instantly. Then at 4000 RPM the vacuum is released and they open. So, just look to see if both of them snap closed as soon as the engine starts.
