SCT X4 Troubles (error 11042, tune revision out of date)

I've got a GH tune (@mattr66 ) I've been running for a couple years on my SHO.

I needed to take the car to the dealer, so I flashed back to stock. No issues.

Got the car back, and went to put the tune back on, and I noticed a message that said "UNSUPPORTED VEHICLE". Never noticed that before. So I decided to update the SCT Device before trying to flash. The update took a long time, so I am questioning if it actually completed. Now I get a message that says "TUNE REVISION IS OUT OF DATE". I've tried re-running the updater but it says everything is up to date. And I tried removing the tune files from the X4 and adding them again. I tried resetting the X4 device. No dice. Seem this thing is toast at the moment.

Error code is 11042.

Anyone had similar issues, know a solution?

Check your strategy, if they flashed your car and it changed, then this won't work and you will need to get it updated with new strategy.

Thanks for the reply. I thought of that, but I don't know what the old strategy was. This may be what the original problem was. I was going to follow up with GH since they probably know the strategy they provided the tune for and would need a new tune anyway. However, after trying to update the SCT device, I get the Error 11042 whether the X4 is connected to a PC or my SHO. So I think I hosed the X4 when I could have just worked it out with GH.

Even if it's hosed, you can call sct support and most likely they can fix it over the phone. Usually if you call mid week in the morning it isn't too long of a wait to get a real person.
