Ok, I'm tired of the fingerprints on my navigation screen and I don't like wiping it down all the time because I hate the light scratch marks that will eventually appear. Has anyone installed a screen protector yet? If so how did it affect the sensitivity of the touch screen?

what is scratching yours?

i always keep a new microfibre cloth in the glovebox with its only purpose in life is cleaning off fingerprints once every 2 weeks or so (the same one has been in my glovebox since day 3 of owning the car)

to check on the softness of a microfibre cloth take a blank cd and rub with some pressure onto the cd (data side) if heavy marring occurs do not use that type of cloth

or purchase a bottle of monster screenclean which comes with a good microfibre towel

+1 one the monster screen clean. Once you try that I think you'll never go with anything else. I worked at best buy and that was everyones recomendation. Its safe to use on about anything.

I use the Monster Clean Screen kit. I have some very slight scratches you can barely see in direct sunlight but I am very **** retentive about my "Blu". I've used PhantomSkinz on my smartphone and it works perfectly. The material doesn't hamper the touchscreen sensitivity and actually has a slight "healing" property which slowly fills in light scratches. I'm thinking about buying some in bulk and applying it to my nav screen. There are a couple of companies out there (Nushields for one) which sell precut shields for our systems for about $20. I just wanted to hear if anyone has done this yet.

Please try it and post your comments on how it worked, that might serve us! Thanks,

I too use just plain old microfiber on the screen and have yet to have any scratches. I've used microfiber that I picked up at Autozone as well as some that I've purchased from Autogeek.net, no issues with either. I also use this along with some Details Pro interior detail spray on microfiber to clean the fake carbon fiber trim and don't have scratches.

I just went to one of my old forums, F150online. Some people over there are also looking for a solution to protecting the nav screen and pointed out something I just noticed on my system. Areas of the screen where I touch alot like the home button in the lower left corner developed a slight witness mark. It looks like a small dull area and it won't wipe off. I'm sure the screen protector will hide this but does anyone else see this when their screen is off? And yes, as I said before I am a lil ****, can't help it. :zoinks:

My system does not respond to "Clean fingerprints off screen" or "Find $2 per gallon premium". What the heck? I'm going to try "Fill passenger seat with beautiful brunette" and see what happens.....:naughty:

That's when you get more than fingerprints on your screen. Sticky.

I picked up an IPAD or some screen protector for a touch screen device larger than the Ford Navi screen at Best Buy also. I was going to cut it down and install it. If I could get the surround off the dash first I think it would make life easier to install. And that little corner smudge is on mine too and won't come off.

Yep! works for me to. Just got to be careful when installing. Had to pull it back off twice do to lint sticking to it. Of course in the process I got a crimp in it somehow. Sure is better than finger prints......Thinking about getting another so I can cover my wife's Tom-Tom, and the cell phone screens.
