ok, those of you who have the sarc switches that run from the fuse up front, where did you run the wires through into the cabin. i already have the harness made up, and the faq says there is a grommet in the firewall near the drivers side strut tower. it also says if you crawl under the dash you can see light coming through, but i can't. with a light, i can see a solid grommet right next to the brake booster, sort of a plug. now is this what it is talking about? thanks.

I think that's what you're looking for. I had to pretty much push mine out. I've got several pictures of my install that I took for a friend and I'd be glad to e-mail you some if you'd like.

I'll actually just go ahead and e-mail them to you.

I went through that grommet also, and had to remove it, run the wire inside, and then reinstall the grommet with the wire already passed through. It is a pretty tight fit.

The easiest way is through the grommet in the door frame/fender.

I fought with the firewall for a few hours and then gave up. I don't know if there are any differences between the '96, 97', '98's etc. but I couldn't get it on my '96.

If you run the wire in the plastic door trim, there's only a little bit that is visible before it runs through the grommit. Then through the fender is easy. When you get into the engine compartment that black plastic wire cover makes the installation look factory.

The best place I found for the switch is just to the left of the steering column. That small panel comes off with just 2 bolts, then it can be drilled out to fit the switch. I used a small black and grey rocker switch from Radio Shack and it looks like a factory original part of the car.

The VAPS part of the SARC is controlled automatically by a vacuum switch. The ride heigth sensors that control the struts are in the shed.

Yep...I just ran two more #8 welding-type cables thru that crowded grommet today myself. Something mighty is breathing in my trunk. I was thinking about your 14.4 mod today Paul when my 1.2f CAP read 14.2. POWER!!

How does that shed run with those sensors installed btw? Smooth it out any? Heh...

Peace,
Dave
