After doing many maintance and performace jobs on this 95 ATX there is still a problem. Sometimes it will start up fine and slowly drop the revs to 800. Mostly though it will only go up to 900 then back to 500. Like 2/3 the revs of what it should be. Also every time I rev it up and let of the gas the revs will drop to 500 and sound like its about to die again. While giving it gas runs great but when you let off it will almost die. Anyone know whats causing this. TPS? maybe? Thanks

Well the koeo test gives me the pass code and the engine on test wont work. This is because during the test I have to give it gas so when I let off it will bog down to 500 while giving codes. So it will start giving codes but Im afraid to let it run the whole time. Ill try again and see if I can get them before it dies.

If cleaning the IAC still does not solve the problem. I found that at times IAC cleaning does nothing. If you need to replace it advanced auto has them for pretty cheap last time I had to buy one.

well the throttle body was pretty clean when I took it off and I didnt want to clean it cause that sticker. The IAC has been replaced on this car though. The idle reset helps for a while. It will center it right where it needs to be, and then it adjusts perfectly to loads, but after the procedure Ive try driving it and same problem. Would that sensor the EGR tubing is hooked to make this happen at all. Not the egr valve but the gray box? thanks

Maybe.

Here's a couple of other things to try first.

1) Unplug the MAF and see if the drivability improves. Ignore the CEL.

2) Unplug the vacuum line to the EGR valve and check for vacuum at idle. Shouldn't be any. Could be a leaky EVR or an EGR valve not fully seating or a faulty DPFE sensor.

well when cleaniung the intake all those egr passages where clogged up. So using berrymans carb cleaner I got it so air could flow. Also sprayed some in the dpfe sensor for some reason....Maf sensor is one other thing ive never touched. What do I need to get those bolts off to clean the MAF wire?
